My new toy...

With the deepest of thanks and love to a dear friend for giving me a short term loan till my tax refund is in....

I have purchased a used apartment sized clothes washer. It hooks up to the kitchen sink, and will hold about 1/2 a normal sized load of clothes.

I LOVE THIS THING....

Now you have to understand, that it normally takes no less than 2.75 per load in our machiens here. Winter time, the pipes can freeze solid and then the cost is 3.25 just to wash at the laundrymat down on the strip. The it normally takes 2 trips through the dryer to get the loads dry here. So on average, it costs me 4.00 to 5.50 per load.

Now...this mini machine spin drys the clothes so well...I wash 2 loads, put them together into a single dtyer load and they are totally dry in one trip through. I'm amazed. I did 6 washer and 3 dryer loads today. Total coinage...3.75.

Thank you again my dear sweet friend, for helping me out...and making this a very good and wise investment indeed.

Yeah anyway...it is the small pleasures...a bit of knowlege that I'll have saved the cost of the unit in just over a month, and the further savings down the road will be immesurable.

I do have a phone interview Monday with an advertising compeditor of my old company...part of me wonders how this would pan out..but there is also a part of me that feels vindicated. Guess we'll see.

Thanks for all who read this.. Just a simple pleasure of mine...in these times when a simple thing can bring a ray of light.

We have our washer and dryer right in our bedroom closet so we sometimes forget what it was like to load it in the car and drive to the laundry mat. Good luck with the job interview Monday!
