From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness

Well, I suppose an introduction is in order.

I'm DJ, I'm 17, and I've had cluster headaches since late '05. I've done Prednisone, Topamax, Verapamil, Veramyst, and Claritin (one doctor thought it may be allergies). I had a perscription for Tramadol about a year ago when they were at their worst, but I've since stopped taking them because they put me to sleep, and I like to enjoy my days being awake.

Some of you may be able to tell, but I'm almost completely obsessed with Coheed & Cambria. I play guitar, work at a movie theater, love reading, nature, and all things simple. I'm going away to Ireland for a week this Friday, and I REALLY hope I don't get too many headaches while I'm there.

That's about it.

Welcome to the family!  Sorry that you have to be here, but so glad you were able to find us.

There is a LOT of information available to you, now.  Learn all that you can, about this condition.  The more you know about it, the better you are to deal with it, and live your life as normal as possible.

It would help a LOT if you were to change your name.  You are NOT a medical doctor.  We want those that are actual doctors, to get the recognition that they deserve.  Being that this IS a medical based site, it is very misleading, and confusing, to have a name with "Dr." as a start.

You can change your name in your profile, without deleting your profile.  How about "D.Amory" ??

Thanks,

Chuck

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I really want to check out that info on O2.

Also, my apologies about the name. My intentions were not to cause any confusion, I was just using the name of a character in the storyline of Coheed & Cambria. I've changed it to "Amory" for the sake of convenience.

Oh, and Joe. Was that "Welcome Home" supposed to have a double meaning?  Wink

Welcome!  I too play the guitar, albeit poorly, and used to work at a movie theatre.  Here's for a PF trip to Ireland!

Hey DJ,

I'll add my welcome home to the list.  We call this our 2nd home and 2nd family because you won't find another place on the planet where your clusters are better understood.  We all know first hand.

I'll also urge you to check out O2.  It works wonders on my hits.  I never leave home without my arsenal.

BTW: "Wake Up" and "Keeping Secrets" are on my IPOD.  My (then) 17 y/o introduced me to them  Wink

Where there is life, there is hope.
Where there is Oxygen, you must use proper caution.
So be safe, don't smoke while using O2. Kill the pain and not yourself.

Thanks Dennis.

I've got an appointment with my neurologist tomorrow, so I'll ask about O2.

And you should really get all four albums. Each one is so different, and the story is amazing.

No double meaning...if you have CH...this needs to be your second home. It's the only place you'll never have to explain to ANYONE  how much it hurts...no one here will ever tell you it's JUST A HEADACHE, and everyone here will do anything they can to help you.

Welcome home! Wink
