Well, it dont get no funnier than this!!! Roll Eyes

When you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. Idiot Harry Reid maintains that paying income tax is voluntary in the U.S.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may well be...

But wasn't the federal income tax act initiated as a TEMPORARY tax solution to problems from a former time?  Wasn't it supposed to be repealed?

I'm asking out of ignorance, I am too familiar with the Canadian taxation system so I'm uncertain with the US tax code.

Cat

as an aside I am presently being audited by the Canadian Gov't to provide a 2006 tax return - I haven't lived in Canada, or received Canadian source income since 1999 - gotta love how they come after you even if you do everything by the books.

What a complete idiot.

The crux of the debate with regard to taxes is in the language of the law as written. I'll try to boil it down as I understand the nuances.

As written, taxes are due on profits. Most of us are employed under a basic agreement that if you perform a service that we agree to pay you a negotiated amount.  This agreement is in its essence is an even exchange. There is no profit. You do this for me and I agree to give you this amount of money.

Sorry Jonny but being a sloe proprietor you will have to pick up my slack.  This concept has been ruled upon on in many Court cases in the favor of the citizens but the Government ignores the rulings.

You can find out more if you Google "Freedom to Fascism" and learn further at Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register. What is of striking while reviewing WTP web site is the cancellation of an agreed to meeting between the folks at WTP and officials of the Government. A couple of days before the scheduled meeting, the Government representatives canceled the meeting without any reason given. Just scew you..we're not going to discuss this matter further.

Everything in life is an option except death. You don't have to pay taxes......you can choose to go to jail.

Feel any better now?
