Displaying my ignorance (again!)
Feb 18th, 2009 at 1:45am

I know someone told me once before, but I can't find it.  (I saved it somewhere)

How do I make my pics smaller so photobucket doesn't make them look like billboards that won't fit on a screen?  I hate having to slide the pic from side to side and up and down to see parts of it at a time!  I'd really like to get Rob and Leah's wedding pics up, and have had a time trying to get them from on computer to another already, having had to email them and download one at a time.  Now they are WAY to big!

If you are running XP.....download the image resizer from Microsoft. You can resize by a right click......I'll have the link in a sec.

Modified to add link: Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Look on the right hand side as you scroll down the page. Download and install "ImageResizer.exe".

What OS are you using?

It makes a difference.  I had to switch to a different one, cuz my new laptop has Vista on it.

Chuck

EDITED TO ADD:
I use InfraView.  It is not as easy as the one Racer gave you, but that one does not work in Vista.  BUT, InfraView can do a lot more than Racer's.  I just wish I could use Racer's resizer in Vista.  I miss the simplicity of it.

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

Jerry, if you are using photobucket, when you are looking at the pic, there are options for resizing it. One of the options is for "message board". Click on that, it will resize, the copy and paste the URL.

Thanks!  I'm using Photobucket, but it's down for maintenance right now, so I'll have to wait till morning.  Hope I can get some up before going to work.

Really appreciate the help.

Unless you know the basics of what the user's machines configuration is. Especialy if it is a Microsoft machine. You should NEVER suggest that the user download and install a program. Remember it takes 4,000 atta boys to make up for one oh shit.
Chuck, you of all people, should know this sweetheart. The man has Photobucket. Have him resize online. Keep it simple baby. Use someone else's server remember?
If anyone can screw our lives up, its Microsoft. It still holds 9 of the 10 top positions for worst operating systems ever made. Don't feed it anymore than you have too. Practice due diligence. These people are our friends. Get the info on the machine. Then make a suggestion. And hold the lusers hand thru out the process.[/rant]
