Posts: 23 lancs uk Gender:	getting 02 when u smoke in the uk Feb 23^rd, 2009 at 4:51am hey ppl im at a dead end any input would be much appreciated my hubby is a chronic CH he's had it for 3yrs but only was diagnosed 1 month ago his neurologist is Rx verapamil but that aint working... so he was just about to get 02 when his doctor realised he smokes and told the neurologist where can i get 02 without a Rx

I also have ch and don,t use o2 but was offered it by my GP Colin

You have to be careful. 02 is not flammable.......but is an accelerant. What that means is it makes anything that burns.......burn really really really hot! So if he soaks his clothes with 02 while aborting a headache, then lights up a smoke, he will grow up like a roman candle.

So after you've used 02, take a walk, air out the clothes...THEN have a smoke. And smoking WHILE aborting an attack........we call that suicide. Good luck.

Thing is, to not light a f*g when you've just come off the O2. Step into the garden or the balcony for some time, then have a safe smoke. Regards, Pascal.

Hi
What else is he on other than verapamil, cause thats only a prevent tablet ?
He should have some sort of relief also, if not get back to the quacks and try sumatriptan ( imigran ) 100mg tablets !
I gave up the verapamil as all they did was shift the attacks to a harder to cope with time of the day.
Sumatriptan work for ( me ) relief but they do take around 20min to kick in !
I take a tablet and go for a long walk, it doesnt help the pain but it means i have something else to try and concentrate on.

f*g in the USA is a derogatory name for homosexuals. In the USA the word is cigarette for what you smoke. If this forum was hosted in other countries the words fanny and root would be censored although in the USA they mean completely different things.
