New Dr. and HOPE
Mar 7th, 2009 at 11:45am

Hey gang I want to update from my last post about my Dr. appt yesterday. I was seen by a very good Neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic and now I have a new plan of treatment. My doctor put me back on O2 with the correct type of mask recommended to me by several of you; my meds are Depakote 500 ER, Zomig 5MG nasal spray and Melatonin OTC. I go for a MRI next Tuesday and have a follow up appt with my Dr. The Clinic has a research trial that is going very well with stimulators and I look like a good canidate for this study. I'll find out more after the MRI and follow up visit with the Dr. and I'll post again with an update.

Hi Rick,

I'm glad you found some Drs that know what they're doing.

For me, I'd only view the stimulator as an absolute last resort.  It is brain surgery after all.

If you really are in that place then you have my sympathy and support.  While we all share a funky hypothalamus, the road we each take to find relief is different.

Lizzie2 has gone through this procedure twice. Search for her threads and read about her experience.  The first surgery was unsuccessful due to lead site infection.  From what I understand the 2nd surgery went better.

Where there is life, there is hope.
Where there is Oxygen, you must use proper caution.
So be safe, don't smoke while using O2. Kill the pain and not yourself.

That's great news, sounds like you're on a good road now. 30 years of this and the 02 is still my best friend. Hope it works as well for you.

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there
