If it was email, you should be able to reply.  If it was a personal message on here, I guess you will have to find his email.  I unfortunately dont have it.

I just found out over the last hour that some of the people who've been posting a lot here, like Jonny, Potter and CH Hell, are all ex members.
I know it's none of my business, so I won't even ask, but it does leave me a little puzzled.

Hope they'll be back soon.

Pascal.

Is it not okay to openly discuss why members become ex-members?

I don't get why it is a big secret...what a better way to prevent it from happening with other members in the future than talking about.

I noticed someone else is locked...I did not see any insults coming from them in the thread that got heated.  What gives?  Can some be locked for expressing emotion now?

ClusterHeadaches.com is going to live by a new set of "standards" that involve integrity and respect.  These standards have been added to the registration agreement so every new member who joins from now on will know what the expectations are when they create their profile.

This message board is not a democracy, at best it is a benevolent dictatorship.  As such, users of this site will be held to a prominent standard of integrity and respect.

Debate is welcome (and encouraged), but attack ideas and opinions; not personalities.  Note that putting an "in my opinion" type of qualifier on a violating statement does not change the fact that the statement violates these standards.

Personal attacks or threats against other board members will NOT be tolerated. Racist, sexist, Anti-Semitic remarks, or hate speech will not be allowed. Calling a member 'troll' or using 'troll' or similar emoticons is considered a personal attack.  Abuse of the Private Message (PM) privileges, harassment, stalking, etc... will not be tolerated.

As a general guideline, the first instance of a member violating these standards will result in a “lock down” of one week during which the member will not be allowed to post on the message board or send/receive PM’s.  A second instance will result in a “lock down” of one month.  A third instance will result in immediate and permanent banning.

In order to protect and preserve the overall health and well-being of the site, the owners/administrators reserve the right to remove any post or user from our community at our sole discretion and without explanation.

I have read it and it still does not answer the question...

Forgive me if I am wrong, but it appears that someone got locked for telling someone remove their boxers from their butt hole.  where does that fit in with the above?  And then on another thread we have someone spouting off about "liberal idiots."  If someone is liberal does that mean they're an idiot?  So, why does one get locked and the other does not?

Potter, sweetie....

We all know that you ARE corrupted, but we love you anyway.

Glad to see you back among the family

To everyone else inquiring why some of our old family members are now ex-members.

It is either by their choice or because they have been unacceptably abusive in their posts to others.  In the latter case, DJ and Steph have decided to give them a "time out", which in my opinion is deserved, whether temporary of permanent.

Okay she is fine with it, but why is telling some to take their shorts out of their ass wrong?   And it is okay to call liberals idiots?

Doesn't anyone else see that this is an unlevel playing field?

icedragon,

An explanation was given already by DJ.  All additional questions regarding reasons of locking, banning, etc. should be directed directly TO DJ.

Please PM him.

Thank you.

I wasn't trying to answer anything or everything.  My post said that if you are abusive, or nasty in any post to another, then you deserve whatever time out DJ decides.

Gotta a problem with this?  I don't.

Dragon............

Since you posted this on the Jonny thread I assume you were inquiring about him . A couple of weeks ago, DJ felt that Jonny crossed the line. The post has been deleted. So you must trust him on this. If this still pisses you off, you have 2 choices as I see it. Live with it or not.

PS....You really need to visit more often to keep up. Thats not being smart but this has been discussed over and over already.  Smiley

The problem with Americans is they have become so used to our system, where NOTHING is wrong and NOTHING is absolute and there are always ENDLESS appeals to everything, that they struggle with this simple concept:

The board is here to help those suffering from CH, and as a side light, it's a great social interactive sight. If you need to be abusive, there are tens of thousands of boards out there where you CAN be abusive and no one cares. Here, you can't be. If you are, you're tossed. No lawyers, no endless appeals, no getting the media or Oprah or Dr. Phil to take up your cause, you're just gone.

I mean no unkindness or disrespect to anyone, but if you cannot abide by those rules, move on.

Everyone brings great joy to this board......some when they arrive, some when they leave.  Wink

icedragon,

Where Jen is concerned, there were messages sent privately that caused it to be handled as it was;  For any specifics you have to talk to DJ since it was communication between DJ and Jen.

As moderators, DJ makes the rules, we follow the board and point out any situations that we think cross the line and DJ decides what will be done with it.  Consider the analogy of us as babysitters - we can tell the parents what a child has done that should earn them loss of allowance or a raise in allowance, but we don't have the authority to actually do it;  that decision remains entirely DJ and Steph's.  While I dislike the general statements about 'liberal idiots' or 'republican idiots', it is a generalized political opinion;  I simply don't read the political threads if I find the points of view outside of my own comfort zone, but that is just my personal opinion.  Again, if you are offended by it, or believe that there is something unfair to it, send a PM to DJ and talk with him or Steph about it.

As to Jonny being banned, again you will need to PM DJ and ask for any specific information you want.  Suffice it to say that the thread was removed entirely because the comment made was so disturbing that there was absolutely no good or valid reason to leave it up and open for viewing.  While I understand people's curiosity about what happened, I would encourage everyone to try to keep in mind that the person who was the recipient of the question/comment was victimized and it was a very hurtful and hateful event and not something that should be left open for further threads to sprout from it, thereby causing even more trauma to the victim in this instance.
