The piece in the front is an antique press from what the owner there told me.

Sorry for the crappy photo, but you get the idea.  Hope you like and thanks for looking.

I really like this one, Jen.   Smiley  Your attention to the details of each object make them seem very individual--part of the whole, but discrete objects on their own.

I like the way the light falls across the floor.

Best wishes,

George

Jenn,

That's really beautiful!   Thank you for sharing all of your work with us.

Will you be selling any of your paintings at the auction?  I especially liked the barber shop. Wink

Good one, Jenn.  I like the preserves rack fronted by the flowers growing towards the light, and how easily the surface of the wrought iron pot cart just needs a glance know it's glass.   Thank you, Jenny.

Welcome back, too.       Kiss

thank you all Smiley

Beth, yes this is the drawing I posted before- that was the beginning.

Jeannie, I have something in mind for the auction, just haven't had a chance to get to it yet  Smiley

Funny story:   I was told to go down to Lancaster County to check out the Lancaster Tavern.  I drove the 45 mins down, found the place and I was thinking: JACKPOT.  I walked up the steps - the sign reads:  Since 1790  (oh hell yeah!) This place has been around for 219 years!!!

What do I see at the door?   "Closed for renovation"   AAGGGHHHH!

They couldn't have waited another year or so??

That is really neat!  I can't color in the lines, much less paint a picture of that quality!

Jen,

You really need a one person show. Your pictures are starting to have an accumulating feeling. Somewhere in America where life is a bit slower and calmer, more serene, where people take the time to stop and smell the roses. You mentioned a few posts ago that you were getting paintings ready for a show. When and where is it? Thanks for sharing!

I really love what you do with these. I can’t figure out if I’m drawn more to the light & shadow work with your use of color - or the tremendous amount of detail.  Can’t help but go back to look again, just wish I could see them larger to soak up the detail.

You seem to have such a signature style going, it would be a shame not to keep them as a single body of work.

I don't recall seeing an answer to Charlotte's questions about you doing a show – I too recall you mentioning it.

Charlotte and Marc,  the show I'd planned on doing is June 20th here in Tappahannock called Rivahfest. There are usually about 100+ vendors and artisans selling a huge variety of items. Its a summer festival here and about 10,000 ppl attend

The "problem" now is what I'll have to show!  I've now sold 3 of the ones I'd planned on taking  Smiley

I'm going out today to get more pics of places in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula and hopefully I'll have something started by tonight.

Thanks so much for your support and encouragement!

Jenn,

Well, I certainly do not have a critic's eye for this, but I do know what appeals to me.  I can't pinpoint one reason. I'd have to say the that "it feels good" to me and my experience tells me that is what tends to drive an impulse sale. If at all possible, ask to borrow the paintings that you sold and display them at the show with a "SOLD" sign on them - (Not during the first hour!)

I really like the work that you produce -I don't throw flowers at people unless I mean it.
