child birth vs the demon
Mar 26th, 2009 at 5:44pm

This one is for all you ladies and I'm sure this has already been asked somewhere down the line. Here we go....! Is a kip 10 CH worse than giving birth to a 7lb or 8lb babino? Why i ask is even though my girlfriend is sooooo supportive and i couldn't get through it without her, she still loves her wee joke in which she waits till i finish my cycle then delivers it with a cheeky grin "STILL NOT AS PAIN FULL AS GIVING BIRTH" i was there when the kids arrived and it just didney look as bad as a big mad kip 10 CH. some feed back would be nice  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed

Wishing a cluster free day to you all.....!

now im no lady, but i was there when tracey had..little casey.....it took 18 mins...start to finish (no time for gas and air)...a few screams..a bit of pushing ..but done in 18 mins.
she was asleep 10 mins later....mmmmmmm

if she had up to six babies a day, for up to 3 months at a time.

then i would have to vote childbirth.

I have only been an observer of clusters so I can't say but I have had two kids. Like CH, childbirth also varies in pain so I don't really think you can compare the two. I also had one of thos text book deliveries that lasted all of 2 hrs and only intense pain for 20 min but my first baby was 17 hrs of drug induced hard labor with a constant pitocin drip going, no epidural. I lost all of my water, baby was posterior, bladder was bruised when the doc came in with forceps and first APGAR was 1 out of 10. I think that has to compare to a Kip 10. I was in the hospital a week afterwards from the complications. The only difference is when my pain was over I had a baby.

I think we need to respect each others pain and not try to say which is worse. Both conditions need lots of compassion and understanding.

I tend to agree with Charlotte. I remember my mom telling me that a mom forgot the pain of childbirth once she saw the baby. I think that's a crazy statement but now that my kids are 22 and 24, well, I can't remember.

Meanwhile, I also know that Joe's headaches are KIP=AWFUL and it's been awhile for one of those. For me to compare the pain, don't think I could.

I guess in terms of trying to describe CH pain to someone, making a broad statement of "Imagine the worst pain you've ever had - remember the intensity and the duration? My worst pain might be the same, might be more, but it comes in ___ frequency and lasts ____ long. It hurts."  Maybe then they will get a glimpse of understanding.

This is why I may have been so serious. You took childbirth pretty lightly. No one with CH would appreciate someone saying your Kip 10 didn't look too bad. I just get a little tired of comparing who's pain is worse. I'm sorry if I took it too serious.

I don't really give a rat's patootie as to WHICH is worse!  I don't care if it is clusters, migraines, childbirth, passing kidney stones, a broken bone or the worst pain in life, a broken heart ...

All I know is pain SUCKS!!

And if you are suffering from pain, whatever the cause or severity, I feel sorry for you, and wish you didn't have to suffer with it!

End of story!

I've given birth three times.  First time didn't hurt at all, the next two were not that bad, but, I would never tell another woman that childbirth doesn't hurt.  All pain is subjective and I also hate to see anyone suffer from any type of pain.

So I do agree that pain is relative and different for everbody and all pain sucks regardless of the cause.

I had my last cycle when I was 5 months pregnant with my daughter and was unable to take anything to help. I think that my choice would be that the pain may actually be the same but as far as preference child birth would be my pick as being easier. Here is the only reason though. Child birth is more predictable and if you are lucky should be about a one day event. With CH it tends to seem never ending and not so predictable.

Just my opinion though........... I do not, however, say this so you can try to prove her wrong on who has it worse  Wink

I go with Chuck's response.  (That was so hard to say I had to go back and fix three typos!) Cheesy

pain is pain, and to try to quantify it even in jest doesn't diminish it for either party.

Awww I remember it well -- 14 hours of horrific pain, screaming at Bill what I was going to do to parts of his body when it was over!  Then it was over and they handed me a beautiful baby boy and yeah, there was some pain, but ... I had a baby...

Did I forget that pain -- well, not according to my kid. I've been telling him about it for the last 40 years and how hard it was to get him into this world Smiley and that he should appreciate me more. But actually it's a distant memory.

CH - I don't get a baby out of and it just keeps coming back. No perks at all. But as Chuckles said, Pain of any kind just SUCKS!!!! Right now it's down to freezing here and Arthur(ritis) crawled in bed with me this morning... UGHHHH! I hate that guy!

Labor any day, I have 2 kids, natural ( no nothing) woke up in hard labor I have been asked that but 2 top dr's. At least with labor you know it will end, hurts like hell but then you have a cute bundle of joy. With hits you know there is no ending, they may stop, for a few hours but you know they are coming back. But pain is pain.

I went through 12 hours of hard labor with Anthony and then followed that up by 1 1/2 hrs of hard labor with Joshua (twins).  I had complications during delivery and I would still take that over ch.  I think child birth is a piece of cake compared to a cluster headache.  But that is just my opinion.
