question
Apr 2nd, 2009 at 4:05pm

I've been here since 2002 and I've never been treated so badly.  Why are there so many angry people?  I ask some honest questions and I get attitude in one thread by two different members.  Why is this permitted?  Is this not a friendly place anymore?  Where is Vig and Jonny all my other friends here?  Did they leave because of the negativity?  Just curious.  I didn't come here to get talked down to and criticized, I came here for support.  I see a lot of attitude in other posts too and that's terrible that it's allowed.

If this is the treatment I'm going to get, I'll just stop coming here.  I don't need that crap.

It's terrible.  Very sad to see people that should be supporting eachother attacking each other.

Lissa, don't let anyone drive you off, it's not worth it.
There's lots of decent folk around here, who mean well and understand your pain, and are very interested in what you have to say, if even there won't always be agreement.

All the best, Pascal.

I've been coming here since I was diagnosed and have always gotten such good support here.  Sorry if I'm being overly sensitive here, but this really breaks my heart to see the forum this way.

I read the thread and didn't see anyone being attacked.

Sometimes we have to agree to disagree without the name calling.

Stick around Lissa.  There are some wonderful supportive people who truly do care.

Lissa,
Yes, you have been here a long time....and you've not been around recently. I went over and read the thread about Chiros, and found what you took offense to. You know, honesty is always what you're going to get here. Not sugar-coated, never anything but the truth, and sometimes, it arrives in brief sentences. Not always what you want to hear.
Getting down to the real nitty-gritty, you are asking for Viggie-Paul and Jonny . Paul will be by soon. He is still around. Jonny, on the other hand, is no longer here. He can tell you why, and if you don't have his e-mail, many of us will be glad to share it. Chuck's comments to you were sharp, but you have to know, Chuck is the poster boy for chronic CH. He is here daily, both giving and receiving-he would GLADLY help you with o2 or anything else, but he tells it like it is. Linda is one of our moderators, making sure that newbies DON'T get abused- Viet vet is one of the most caring people I've seen here, but he has no tolerance for whining, abuse or making the same mistakes repeatedly. They are ALL quite candid, will only tell you exactly what they are thinking and they all have HUGE hearts and would do ANYTHING to make it so NOONE suffers CH.
ALL sufferers deserve sympathy...and all sufferers should be sympathetic to another sufferer, but, when a CH'er sees someone who is rejecting the information gathered, tried and true by so many, it kinda torques them.........a lot!
Try again, please, Lissa. You are a sufferer, and as so, you are part of this family. If someone's comments offend you, there is always the lil ignore button. Feel free to use it.
I am sorry your are in cycle, and I soo hoope the Beast loses your address soonest- but I am certain, if you were to meet these people in person, you would NOT take offense, and if you listen carefully to what they say, you will learn a LOT about how to deal with this monster.
Wishing you PF and lots of good times here.

AHHH! See?? Now ya know! Perhaps Chuck was just coming out of a hit when he posted. He used energy he doesn't even HAVE right now, to reply, and if it came out too harsh, well, consider the opportunity. It's called Posting while under the influence of the BEAST!  And it might be the reason YOUR reply was less than stellar.
Noone wants to FIGHT about CH.....this group is here to HELP- not hinder, but, please, be open to what is said..and, nooo...... name calling is NOT allowed...so, hang around, you'll soon feel the love again, Lissa, and, again, I hope the beast loses your address soon!
Feel better

Lissa,

I think we are all ok now that we have had a chance to talk.  If any of us understand being in a bad place, it's here.  Keep your chin up, look around, you are surrounded by literally 1,000's of people who understand what you are going through.

Take a deep breath, brush it off (whatever it may be) and know that this a very tight family...here to support each other.

You are in the right place, even if you don't think so right now!

Sometimes "support" isn't just sunshine and butterfly kisses. Sometimes it's a swift boot in the fannie, sometimes it's a shoulder to cry on, sometimes it's an attempt to make you laugh, and sometimes it's saying nothing at all - merely listening.

Each of us here is in need of support from time to time, and the rest of the time we're here to lend it. And each one of us "supports" best in one or more of the ways mentioned above.

Jimi is one of my heroes  Roll Eyes and his tagline reads "I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it."

I try to remember that every day.  When something or someone bugs me here I say "Oh for Pete's sake," log off, and go do something productive until the feeling passes.

Granted, I'm only a supporter, but I hang with these folks a lot and just like any other family, they annoy me occasionally.

I'd still rather that they watch my back than most any other group on the planet.

YMMV.

At the risk of swelling Jimi's head even more than it already is....I think so much of Jimi I'm even moving to Kentucky.  Not just all of Kentucky but near him.   I am of the belief that Jimi might teach me every thing he knows about life and perps and patience and love and southern humor and hospitality and wisdom and  did I mention PATIENCE?

There ya go with that ONLY stuff again Pat.   You are a supporter extraordinaire and none of our supporters can be classified as an "ONLY" anything.   More like a life-line
