CH in this months Readers Digest

It mentions the clusterbuster method of kidzu and talks about how to use it and studies being done on it etc.  No mention of shrooms or seeds.  But it does use the term clusterbusters.  I thought  it was interesting.

That's odd, because Kudzu is not considered a CB method.  Does it say who the author is of the article?

It doesnt say who the author of the article is.  It is on page 80 in the health section.  The title of the article is Cluster Buster
It says basically that CH is excruciating and can be  treatment resistant.  It sites a recent Yale survery of sufferers kudzu popped up as a promising alterative treatment.  Among those using this herb in pill or tea about 65 percent reported fewer headaches.  And says to talk to your dr about it before trying it but says it seems low risk.

Actually, melly, it is.
Andrew Sewell was still at Harvard when some of us started to see results with kudzu. CB fearless leader BobW brought the threads to Andrew's attention and he (Andrew) started collecting data from us.

He must have published his findings somewhere, since it hit the Readers Digest. I haven't seen it, but I'll pick up a copy this weekend.

Clusterbusters isn't just about Entheogenic treatments, it covers any alternative that seems to work and needs more study.

That is interesting news! I sure hope that our version of Readers Digest will pick that story up so I can read it also. My mom and my two uncles are subscribers, so should our version have it, I'll see it.

Ah, I see.  I was completely unaware of it.  I suppose it would have been better had I said that CB weren't the originators of linking Kudzu with helping CH, or am I wrong in that regard also? Undecided

Really, I did not know that.  I had always assumed that CB always had to do with hallucinogenic CH treatment.  Thank you for the clarification nani. Smiley

OK... a little backtracking...

We (those of us who were early kudzu testers from this board) were the first people to give some anecdotal evidence of kudzu's potential efficacy for CH.

Andrew (then with Harvard, now with Yale) began collecting case studies, an early step in the research process. He was also collecting LSA case studies for the same reason.

This had already been done in regard to psilocybin and LSD, so the research process for those was a little further ahead.

Since no other CH organization was actively working for more research, Clusterbusters kind of "adopted" kudzu. Since Glaxo, et al, were not likely to pursue something they couldn't patent, it made sense for CB, and the dedicated docs from Harvard (and now Yale, as well) to pick up the baton and run with it.

I hope that was helpful.   Smiley
