SE Wisconsin Meet & Greet
Apr 10th, 2009 at 1:14pm

Announcing a southeastern Wisconsin Meet & Greet!

Brew and Mosaicwench will be hosting a meet and greet for any interested clusterheads on Saturday June 13, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The night before, June 12, alienspacebabe’s (Lizzie’s) daughter Teresa, will be racing at the Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI. Several clusterheads from out of town (waaayyyy out of town) will be coming in to see her race, and we just couldn’t let that opportunity go without planning a little cookout and fun time together. We will supply the meat, buns, plates, napkins, cups, etc., Lizzie will supply soft drinks, you can bring your own libations, and we will ask that you bring a dish to pass.

If you’d like to attend, please send a PM to me or Mosaicwench by June 5, 2009 to let us know how many people will be in your party. In return, we’ll send you directions and what category of passable dish to bring (side, salad, pasta, dessert, etc.). It would be fine with me if we end up with 23 pans of brownies, but staring at a couple thousand pickle spears can be a little disheartening.

Can’t wait to see you!

Thanks Bill, Pat and Lizzie.

As long as United Airlines doesn't file for Chapter 7 between now and then I will be there as well. I guess I qualify as coming from "wayyyyy out of town".

Thursday through Sunday in the land of cheese, curds and beer. God help me.  Grin

Jesse and I are going to try and make it down there.  We'd probably arrive Friday early evening to see Teresa race and then head back Saturday evening.  We'd be leaving the kids home, so don't want to stay for more time than that.

Will let ya know for sure as it gets closer to June!

Yes, but we don't have to do all that here on the board. As it gets closer, we'll coordinate it all via PM.

Actually, Mel, now that I think about it - could you do Chateaubriand for about 20-25? Thanks.

I think I'll be at the race. Who is this Teresa girl that everyone is talking about?  Tongue

I wont' be able to make it to the cookout however. I have taken the entirety (sp?) of that Friday off of work, so I'll be around if anyone would want to do anything before the races with this yungun (my "Southern" isn't very good, so sorry if there is a spelling mistake there).

Can't wait!  Cheesy

Editing to add: Looking at my schedule a little closer, there is a possibility of being able to come to the cookout for a short period of time (like an hour or two right around 2pm), so I'm no longer out for sure. Smiley

Who is this yungun Teresa and why would we want to see her race lawnmowers across Lake Mendota wearing a gorilla suit and pink candle earring (lit, of course) whilst playing Flight of the Bumblebee on her trumpet?

Hotel reservation is now made for the night of June 12 in Madison.  Jesse and I will be leaving home after he is done working on Friday, going to watch Teresa race then staying at the Days Inn Madison (same as Jimi & Ruth's hotel).  We'll come to Bill & Pat's for awhile the next day, but since Jesse will have to be up at 4:30am Sunday to go to work, we'll only be able to stay for a few hours on Saturday.

Bill & Pat, was the cookout going to be for dinner or a late lunch?

I wasn't even thinking that far ahead, but if you have to leave a little early, then we'll make sure that you don't leave hungry.

Thank you Bill.

Since it's less than 3 weeks away, is it OK if I offer to bring a cold salad?  It's called Summer Salad and it has ring noodles, cucumbers, celery, carrots, onions and a light white dressing.  Smiley

BTW, can you PM me directions to your house?  How far away is it from Madison?  Thanks!

Bless your heart. Absolutely. But if keeping it cold is going to be a problem during your travels, please let me know.

Yes, I'll do that this week sometime - for you and anyone else who needs them. Depending on where in Madison you're staying, it's right around 90 minutes, give or take.
