i have had "headaches" since '00. I was diagnosed with intercranial hypertention and had 2 shunts placed. Now i still have PAIN and cant get rid of it. I am only looking to tolerate it not annhilate it because it wont ever go completely, ive given that thought up. any suggestions would be nice! I fit with the ch tests and all, just saw a new neuro today, hopefully he is nicer than all the others!! i know i am not crazy, ive had 3 psych consults! lol. anywho thats me in a nut shell.

This tastes like a diagnosis where you may have cluster-LIKE pain but not have Cluster Headache--as a primary disorder ( that is, a headache which is NOT caused by another problem.)

Under thse conditions, I think it would be inappropriate, if not a medical threat, for you to  treat yourself as if you had cluster headache.

Working with the doctors who are treating your primary disorder is, in my judgment, the best route for you.

Best wishes for a good outcome.

i have a LP and VP shunt. I am under the care of yet another neuro!! I honestly thought i was crazy until i came here so dont crush it, please! I have had the thing where my nose cart feels like it is growing and pressure right before a bad "headache". The only thing i dont have is the droopy eye. I get flush on the side of the headache, my nose stuffs and then runs etc, but whatever, i may not have all the answers, but asking for o2 is a whole lot easier than asking for narcs!! i hate taking drugs and at one time was on over 20 at a time, and now reading some of this they were interacting with eachother and making things worse.

i was diagnosed with the pressure thing in my head, but am now realizing that putting the shunts in may have helped because they took the extra pressure off of my nerve ends.
