Mushrooms???
Apr 21st, 2009 at 10:02am

Hi Everyone
Just want to introduce myself. I have been here before but years ago. Ihave been suffering for 40 years now and I thought that I had this thing licked but it has been 4 years since my last bout with the curse and now they are back. Same time(spring) same intensity. I didn't miss these one bit. I went to the doctor and she put me on Prednisone and Verapimil and Maxalt. None seem to work well. Previously I found that I could ward off an attack by taking Cafergot at the first sign of an attack, The doc thought that I was too old (57) for cafergot and thus recommended the other 3.
My future son in law did some research and saw that Mushrooms might work. I tried 2 grams but had no results. I believe that I may have destroyed the effects because I had taken a cafergot the night before which according to articles that I read will close the door on the psyllicibin effects. I will now go medication free and suffer for the next 5 days to see if the mushrooms work.
Has anybody tried this remedy? Does it work? The article says that it is 85% effective and it acturally breaks the cycle.  ???

Shrooms literally stopped 2 of my cycles dead in their tracks (years ago) when I had them.  So yes, it worked for me as well as others.  The easier way to attack the beast is using the rivea corymbosa seeds which have little to no side affects.  You can order them legally through the mail.  See Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register to get all of the info, plus read, read and read some more on this site.

I take these seeds monthly as preventative maintenance.  As you said you need to detox from the pharmeuticals which do nothing for me, but bring on more problems.

Good luck!

If the prednisone wasn't helping, it was probably too low a dose. Its a pretty reliable short term aide.

Yes, the cafergot would most likely have blocked the effects of the mushrooms, taken that soon after the cafergot.

No reason to go completely without other helpful remedies while you're waiting for the cafergot and prednisone to clear. I would highly recommend getting some oxygen first of all, if you aren't set up already.

There are also some other helpful tips in the Mushroom FAQ on the Clusterbuster website. Ginger, Red Bull, Magnesium etc etc.....

good luck,
Bobw
