April is Confederate History month. Sarah and I went down to my sister-in-laws' house and went to the Natchez City Cemetary to see the graves marked with Confederate flags (we were going to the ceremony today, but ti would have been late by the time Sarah got home and she's at the finish line on writing a paper,m so we came ono home). We also went to Rosedown Plantation~there was a reenactment of an antebelum wedding.

Anyway, here are a few pictures to start with (have quite a few more, but haven't processed and uploaded them all).

Rosedown Plantation is now set on 374 acres in St. Francisville LA. It is one of the most intact plantations left. The ornamental gardens alone encompass 18 acres.

Greenwood Plantation~The original home was built in 1830. On Aug. 1, 1960, lightning hit the home and it burned to the ground. In 1968 it was rebuilt to it's former grandeur by using old photographs and history books.
