A big THANK YOU and farewell
May 3rd, 2009 at 10:28pm

Well, the latest cycle is over, and I'm just really thankful for this site and all of you; the whole seven weeks were easier to bear because of the support found here.  My name is Alec, and I live in North Carolina.  I'm 44, and and have been dealing with CH since I was 21.  I was one of the lucky ones to be diagnosed correctly right at the beginning, and I've been REALLY lucky to go several years between cycles- seven between the last three.  But this last one was a whopper; does anyone else feel like the headaches have gotten even more painful as they've gotten older, or is that just me being crazy?  Anyway, I learned so much by reading your posts, like to try Topamax, which worked for the most part.  Thank God for Imitrex shots too.  I'm so thankful that the cycle is over, and I will bid you farewell for a while.  Take care everybody...

I've found them not necassaarily less painful as I've gotten older, but easier to deal with as I've gotten more proficient at reading the signs he's back...and being much quicker to get on my regimen to fight him.

I'd strongly suggest you stick around the board for 2 reasons. We keep discovering new meds and news ways of using old meds...like the recent discoveries of high flow 02...upwards of 25 lpm...helping people who were previously not helped by 02. It's good to stay up on what's new so when he does come back...and damned if he doesn't ALWAYS  come back!! Grin.......you're ready to do battle.

Equally as important...you have more to offer the board then you may realize. Just your experiences could help a newbie struggling to deal with CH!

Damn glad your cycle's over...anyone beats the beast we all win  a little! Wink

"Somebody had to say it" is usually a piss poor excuse to be mean.
