So, ya told him to go fly a kite!!!!

Things like the kite, or a walk thru some place just beautiful fill the soul, don't they?

Our new beach property is right in the "Kite Capital",  on the Oregon Coast, you'll have to bring yourselves out for a visit!

Very cool Jackie! There's a great park in San Diego down at the marina where people fly kites. I love walking through there on Sunday afternoons to watch.

Speaking of kites, anyone read The Kite Runner? Great book. I know there's a movie, which I did not see. But great book.

Tell him to tie it off on a fishing line.  It is a lot easier to reel in!

My sentiments exactly. Mine never did... Maybe the place we tried wasn't windy enough. Undecided

Very cool Jackie.  Pretty kite against a very blue sky.

I bought a box kite several years ago in Tennessee.  We had people over for a bar-b-que and the kids had the kite out flying it.  I told them to put it away when they were done.......yeah right.  The next day, driving home from work, I was down the road from my house I saw the kite flying high in the sky and was ????   The kids had just set it on the ground, the wind picked it up and thank God the end of the string got caught in the tree branch in my front yard.  It had been flying itself all day long.  Grin

You're right. It looks so peaceful. Unfortunately I have had all the luck with kites as Charlie Brown.  Huh

Hmmmm ... Does ANYONE make their own kites anymore?  My father had his own construction company, with his workshop in the basement.  We used to LOVE it when he had to cut the tongue, or grove off tongue and groove boards.  Those pieces made GREAT kites!  We used the string that our shirts came wrapped in, when we picked them up from the cleaners.  Then we used flour and water glue, to glue newspaper to the frame.  VIOLA!!  A kite!

The HOURS we spent with those kites!

I know, I am dating myself, but so what!!!  Everyone knows I am OOOOOOLD!

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.
