Thanks for the O2 info and Hello
May 19th, 2009 at 7:42pm

Hi to all you fellow nightmare merry go round riders! I have been an unwilling CH participant for about ten years.  Tapering off the latest attack.  Ticked over what it takes to find some O2 on this planet.  Had O2 prescribed at my last attack 10 months ago and gave up by the time the cycle ended.  Was trying again this time, and it is amazing how difficult it is to get some pure air!!!!!  Have printed out the article, here on the site, more info than I have been able to find in a year else where.  I'm thankful to have found this community.

Hi Alexy, welcome aboard. Glad you found us. Tell us a little about yourself, where are you from? There could be someone here that could direct you to an o2 supplier. Are you on any meds?

You found the right place! Lots of people to answer any and all your questions SmileyWelcome to your new home.

CAUTION:  Do NOT smoke when using or around oxygen.  Oxygen can permeate your clothing or bedding.  Wait, before lighting cigarette or flame.

Keep fire extinguisher available, and charged.

Smiley Thanks for the welcome!!!!!!
In answer to the questions I live in the DFW Texas area.
52 years old, happily married despite this condition.
Seem to be a typical episodic suffer, bout every 10 months on average.
Slept 8 hours last night for the first time in 2 months.  Praying this one is over.
Still working on the O2 in my spare time- HA!!!  Playing catch up right now!!!
I see there is Lifegas in Dallas, so if my latest attempt falls through may be down to that.
Need to find some one willing to refill tanks as needed., I have a script but may need Doc to modify?
Looking to purchase tanks and equipment once I get a relationship with a supplier, so equipment works within their requirements?
So,  anyone with an referral in the preferable FW or Arlington Texas area would be MUCH appreciated!!!!

Glad to have found you all, please let me know if there is anyway I  can do to be of service.

Hi Alexy,
You should be able to get medical O2 from Apria Healthcare or Lincare, both deliver in your area. If you have insurance they will deal with it. Or if you don't have insurance they take credit cards.

I use APRIA too. I'm off cycle now but have learned from bitter past experience to ALWAYS have oxygen available. Seems with every new cycle I have a new Nurse Cratchett to argue with to get precriptions updated. There are currently 8 E-tanks sitting in my garage! So once this cycle is over...and I'm really hoping it is.....don't stop in your 02 pursuit. I'm almost as...experienced Wink...as you at 49 years of age, and in 31 years of this stuff nothing has come close to oxygens track record. Wishing you luck.

Alexy,

There are home oxygen providers all over the DFW area.  Many of us who attended the last OUCH conference in Dallas got a tour of the Linde LifeGas fill facility....  They've got lots of oxygen there for cluster headache sufferers and I'm sure you'll be able to find others in the area as well.

If you're having trouble finding a home oxygen provider, shoot me a PM. We have friends there in the DFW area.

Take care,

V/R, Batch

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there

Thanks to all of you for the continuing advice.
Currently working with Pacific Pulmonary Services, waiting on a reply
on their final costs, etc.
They are the first after multiple attempts that seem to be willing to work with my episodic condition and the fact the Blue Cross, Blue Shield won't even acknowledge my EPISODIC condition.  So have to pay out of pocket.
Got the referral from my dentist, maybe that's why?
Anyway, need to be prepared for next episode, so will keep all of you informed as to progress on O2.

THANKS AGAIN to all of you!!!!! Smiley : Grin Smiley
