Technical Help Please
Jun 2nd, 2009 at 7:07pm

I'm having 2 computer issues today.

1) There is a Windows Security Alert that states my Avast may be out of date, however, I've rann all the updates and the warning alert that remains.

2) I can't log in to some of my sites (including my online banking website) because is states my "cookies" feature is disabled.

So...what do I do now?

Thanks in advance.  Might this be an explorer 7 issue and need to upgrade to 8?  I've heard there are issues with 8.

Also, I'm running Win XP Pro.

I can't answer your questions, directly. BUT, if you suspect that it is an Internet Explorer issue, go online and download Mozilla Firefox.  That is the program I use.  I hate IE!

Pegg,

You can put your bookmarks on FireFox.  I imported mine, and find it works much more quickly, and with less screw-ups.  I rarely ever get a pop-up, and haven't gotten nearly as much spam.  You couldn't pay me to go back to IE.  And yes, I have a current comparable.  We have IE at work, and it is constantly screwing up our whole network.

Sis, if you've upgraded Avast, then ignore the windows message about your antivirus is out of date. My IBM likes to tell me that on occasion.

Use Firefox. You can go to Tools at the top of the browser, choose Options, and set your preferences.

IE sucks.  Wink
