The two groups I saw on Saturday weren't going in any particular direction, just feeding and playing. I just got a new camera, so hopefully I'll get some shots of them jumping out of the water, and maybe some shots of the dolphins that play on our shoreline. -Shawn

oh suurre! yOU GUYS THINK IT'S COOL TO HAVE VISITORS IN YOUR YARD!
As for US, we had nutria in the creek, got them handled, moved them to another locale.......we have been working for the last few months to remove the menagerie from our crawlspace........the house is a mid-century...completely redone, studs-out......except, it seems, for a teeny-tiny-teenietnie hole in our deck....where not only skunks, but raccoons came to make a home. We have spent over $5,000. on a critter getter to announce to these guests, we do NOT rent out the BASEMENT! Sheesh!
I cannot WAIT to get to new construction once again, and if there is ONE MORE critter sighting........I'm going postal.........whasles and dolphins excluded!

Yeah, that 300mm lens is pretty awesome, especially considering I took that without a tripod. The vibration reduction works like magic! And, the D90 is a full frame sensor which makes my 300mm actually an effective 450mm. I am really looking forward to using it more.

However, my absolute favorite lens is a cheap one I just got, a 50mm prime lens. Here's a sample, pretty much the first picture I took with the camera.

We've around 12 well mannered adult bandits up feeding each night... They come in several shifts between sunset and sun rise... Some come up, eat, play for a while, then sleep...

The sows have slimmed down and are gorging on cat food so I'm expecting to see at least 3 litters of kits up on the deck at any time... We had 4 litters last year for a total of 11 new kits.

Even Chuck got to meet one of them...
