A well story !

The people come to check our well because we lose water pressure every 5 minutes. Have to take fast showers. Run in get wet. Turn off water soap up turn water on rinse. YUCK
They go out there and look come back and give me the bad new that the pump is burning up pulling 19 amps instead of 10 amps. He tells me the price. I almost had the big heart attack as he said the price.
The he says you will have to take the fence down so we can get the truck up there call us when you do and we will come back. I say "well I guess you won't be back. My husband is quiet older than me and I am not going to make him pull up that fence, plus IO just had a operations and I can't pull it up! I turn around and head back toward the house. He said well we can pull it up for ya. (Yea I knew they could Wink

) They pull it up and come to get their money. One said we would put the fence back up for you but we don't have any fence ties. I get up from my desk go to the shed and get them some fence ties and a tool to pound the post back into the ground. I said ya'll put the fence up wile I go and write the check out. Cool

I am a nice person I take them the check and two cokes out there when they were done.
The fence looks better than it did before LOL.
Buddy asked how I learned to do this. I told him i learned this from being married and having children. Cheesy

I am old now I can't use my beauty any more so I have had to turn to other means to get things done. LOL

Good for you Elaine! Hearing about the untimely death of your pump reminds me of a story:

Joe and I got married 9/11/02 which was a Saturday. Thursday of the preceeding week, my mother called and said "they" were on their way down to start prepping for the wedding. They lived 2 hours from me. "They" were mom, step-dad, and I think 5 kids that lived at home then. I had no idea why they were coming Thurs but what could I say?

I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment which I shared with one of Joe's sisters. At the first sign of my family she high-tailed it over to Joe's parents house, where they still had a mess of kids living at home.

Many years later, my mom and I were discussing her well, and she said, oh yea, like when our pump went out 2 days before your wedding. AH HA! Now I know why they came to stay, they had no water...and no time to get it fixed before coming down. I felt so bad, but I guess they got it worked out, although it cost them a bundle at a time they really didn't have it.
