Hi, Im new to this support group.
Jun 10th, 2009 at 1:40pm

My name is David. Im 45 yrs old and have had cluster headaches for over 12 years. Mine are cronic. I have a bad episode every week, on the day, on the hour. In between this, I have the on coming symptoms. This site is new to me, my fiancee found it for me. She is learning more about clusters than I ever have. It is nice to see Im not alone out there. Doctors sometimes make me feel that way, and its frustrating.

Bob said it nicely...we're a damned nosey bunch! Grin Seriously, the biggest strength of this board is it's collective experience in dealing with CH. When you have second, let us know about your treatment regimen. Do you have a decent preventative medication, good abortives, have you tried oxygen yet? You may drop a new pearl on us, we might be able to tweak your regimen a little to make it more effective.

Smiley To your fiance for finding the site. My wife found this site for me and saved my sanity! Hoping you find some pain free time soon. Welcome to the board.

Joe

Welcome to the madhouse David! Sorry you're here, but glad you found us.

Read, read and read more. There's so much info here. It can take a while to get your head around it. As the others have said, let us know what you've tried and what has/hasn't worked for you.

No, we're not nosy at all.  We just want to help in any way we can, but need to know more info about what you've tried and what has worked and hasn't in order to maybe steer you in the right direction.

If you stick around and read a lot of our posts as well as the links to the left you will educate yourself to a lot of info, as well as realizing that you'll never find a more caring and empathetic group of people.  Folks who will bend over back-wards to help.

thats true,  ive never come across a more caring group   Keep on posting and let us know how you are making out.  Give your girl a big hug, because she found you a great support group

One of the most depressing things about CH is how alone you can feel, well, you dont need to feel that way anymore Kiss

Good luck,
Christine

David,

You're definitely not alone with this bunch. And we Do UNDERSTAND what you're going thru cause most of us are going thru the same thing. I've been chronic since 97 so I doubt anything you can say would shock or surprise me (Before Chuck says it -- I'm also OLD!)

Tell us about yourself and what you're taking. Do you have a good neuro? What's worked for you and what hasn't.

Pull up a chair and sit a spell.... we're here to help and we do CARE.

Hugs BD Kiss

Hi David,

I am new to this as well, and I wish someone had steered me here years ago.  From what I have read so far this site is the BOMB.  It always helps to talk to people that understand exactly what you are going through.

Find a Great Neurologist.  It may take you many, many doctors before you find "The One", but stay on them, ask questions and don't settle for anything that wont help you deal with these.  Kiss your fiance every chance you get for being so supportive and proactive in getting you help and relief.

Welcome to the group and sorry that the headaches led you here.

Joe
