After a CH?
Jun 12th, 2009 at 12:47pm

Hi all,

I wanted to ask anyone who may be out there if any of you has any experience with combination HA's.  That is.. part Clusters, and sometimes Migraine?

I think Tim is coming down from his Cluster episode, as he had a CH free night last night  Smiley but now he's acting like a migraineur! He's stopped pacing and wants to be in the dark, and still, and says he has this really bad "regular headache" over one eye.  I guess it could be rebound from all the triptan meds he's taken in the last 3 weeks, we'll have to wait and see what happens over the weekend.

But I just have to ask..Do any of you feel like that after a bad episode?

Hi Drea,

I have both Migraines and Clusters.  My migraines have almost disappeared while I have been in cycle THIS TIME (Thank God) but I did have one or two days in the first month where I had them one after the other.  There are many people here who suffer from both, as well as clusters and other types of headaches or trigeminal neuralgias.  But I do want to say - you have a point about a couple of things...
-Rebound headaches from triptans are all to common.  I hated this, as well as the side effects.  This is eliminated for me if I use O2 instead.   Wink  I do try, and have triptans as a last-effort answer.
-"coming down" from a Cluster - it really takes it out of me - I can often be exhausted.  It is a hard experience to go through - I'd say much worse than my migraines, and I had those chronic, 3-4/week pretty bad.

If you would like to talk more, I'd be more than happy!!   Thanks for being such a great supporter!!  I'd be lost without mine!!!!!   Kiss

There are many here who have a combination of CH and Migraine.

I do NOT have the combo, only CH. But in the old days before triptans and oxygen, if I rode out a 90 minute KIP 10, after the headache was over, I curled up fetal in a dark, cool, quite place to work through what I called my headache hang over. The eye would still ache, the affected side of my head felt like it had been wacked with a 2X4, the CH was clearly gone, but for several hours I was worthless.

Tenderness or shadows after a cluster headache? Sure.

Agreed.  Very much so.  Especially after a bad attack.  (Like Joe, I don't get migraines--only CH.)

Best,

I'm like Joe on this one.  Some times it feels as though my head has been wrung out and I just have to recover from it.  All I want is to be left alone and try to bring myself back to life.
