A little about my history
Jun 23rd, 2009 at 10:22am

Hi all,
I must admit I feel like a veteran of this condition having suffered for 29 years but I have already benefitted from this fantastic site. I have found Imigran(Imitrex) 6mg Injections abort 99% 0f my headaches, but that is an awful lot of injections that are very expensive  and difficult to get enough of if you don't have an understanding doctor. I know it is said to be dangerous to take more than 2 injections in 24 hours but as you know you will do anything to alleviate the pain. I personally have often taken 6 and a couple of Imigran(Imitrex) 100mg tablets in 24 hours, not good I know but desperate situations require desperate measures.I read the IMITREX TIP and have since tried this and found it affective so have now cut down the amount of injections I use and it has worked for me. I can abort 3 headaches with I 6mg injection.I have combined taking Imigran tablets and injections together but you have to know roughly  when your headache is going attack and take a pill an hour before or it is useless because it takes that long to get into your system, get the timing right and you go go a good few hours headache free.Other medications I have taken are too numerous to mention, but Prednisone in high doses seemed to abort a bout for me once but on the next occasion didn't. Over the years I have thought to have found things that have worked only to find later that it was the end of an episode anyway. To date Imigran and Verapamil seem to work for me,certainly the Imigran. Towards the end of my last cycle I started on Verapamil working up to 480mg a day and it stopped it completely, not sure whether it was the end of the cycle or the Verapamil worked.I was free from CH for 4 years(thought it was 3) but carried on Verapamil 120mg per day but it attacked again 6 weeks ago.I think I am coming towards the end of this cycleand feeling a bit better.
Hope this is helpful to some one

P.s. The Red Bull seems to help

Potter's right.

Have you tried o2 in the past? It'll be a little easier on your system than all the imitrex if it works, even if it's just 50% of the time.
