I'm sort of in shock here.  His music was a big part of my childhood.

Wow here also.

Did the whole world just forget that MJ was a child molester who bought his own freedom, repeatedly, by buying off the parents of the children he raped?

Seriously.  Don't get me wrong, I like some of his music, it's great.  But that doesn't buy him a pass.  He's a disgusting animal, good riddance.

After some further research, I'm going to say the Jeff Goldblum thing is a fake. The same story was posted about Screech from Saved by the Bell two years ago:

"Actor Dustin Diamond died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - May 23, 2007. Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available."

Irresponsible on my part before confirming. Sorry.

It makes me sad that a lot of people will grieve.  Grief sucks.

I will not mourn his passing.

Did you mourn the execution of Saddam Hussain?  Is it because he never made you dance?  Think about it.  There was a time that MJ dazzled the entire world.  We *all* loved him.  Then he lost his mind, lost his way, lost his humanity, and committed unspeakable crimes against children.  He used his fame and money to buy/keep his freedom.

God's children and all that, well sometimes you have to draw a line, and MJ crossed it big time in my humble opinion.  No returning from that side.  I celebrate his passing because now he'll get what he deserves and he won't be able to hurt any more children.

Harsh, I know, but deserved.

We'rein Chicago... two days left on vacation...
Was just at Giordanos Pizza (best in the world) when I saw it on the widescreen. I'm shocked!
Then, I just found out about Farrah. While very sad, we all knew she was on her last days... but Michael?

As far as the 'child molester' - only god knows whether it was true or not. He was a VERY vulnerable man, and since he was robbed of his childhood, he was trying to relive it, or get it back. So, it may be true, maybe not. I personally thought that he was overly generous, and was taken advantage of himself. Why would MaCauly Culkin defend him so strongly when accused?

Regardless, he WAS the king of pop, this will probably be bigger than the death of Elvis, given the multimedia of this day and age... it will  be saturated with his passing - and what is even sadder is, this will overshadow the death of Farrah Fawcett.  I remember having the classic Farrah bikini poster as a kid on my wall, and she WAS Charlie's Angels. That show died when Cheryl Ladd took her place.

I am very sad today.   Cry

Right now they are reporting that, like Elvis, apparently Michael was taking large amounts of prescription drugs that his family was concerned about him. Though it was cardiac arrest, that could be caused by abusing of prescripts.

However, Jeff Goldblum... that appears to be a rumour. With the advent of technology, these rumours spread like wildfires.

When I think of Michael Jackson I think of what could have been.  What a sad ending to someone who could have had it all. He couldn't handle the pressure of being famous and became a recluse like Howard Hughes.

Many times the disturbed adult is a product of a disturbed childhood. I don't know what demons he fought but it is over for him now.

There are very few modern musicians that appeal to me.  This guy was talented. Michael Jackson he reminds me of a latter Sammy Davis J....incredibly talented with a log of personal crap to deal with.

Jimi, really agree with this, and also with what Brew said.

Michael Jackson changed the face of music, dance and things related with his talent and musical genius; there's no denying that.  Sadly, whatever plagued his life, it's over, and I'm no judge or jury, there's only one real one to me.

Huge losses in the world of entertainment this week, sad.

Naturally I don't know what the truth about Michael Jackson is, but he still made few of my all time favourite songs. I don't call myself as a MJ fan, but the news about his death was still bit of shock. A cousin of mine is mourning; she is a huge MJ fan.

and David Carradine makes 3.

As for MJ..His childhood didn't exist. I was living in Los Angeles, attending Fairfax High School, when the Jacksons emerged on stage. They(Michael was too you at the time)Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, drummer/cousin Johnnie, all attended my school. I was pretty close to Jackie and Johnnie and we talked a lot back then .It was profound, IMO, that I did not really think of them as "stars", more, I, and many of my peers pitied them, coz they were NEVER allowed any extracurricular activities, because they had careers to make for themselves.  The state required them to attend school, and tutors costr money, while public scool didn't.It ws clear that Dad had set them on a course, and heaven help the boy who decided to stray.
Michael was a musical genius........but, as many geniuses, he was horribly flawed in other aspects of his life.  The music remains, the children are safe, and thank GOd, we don't have to make a judgement about the man.
I always wanted to see Neverland .........

On June 13, 2005, the jury found Jackson not guilty on all charges.  This was the second case.

With the first case, even though he was charged, the family was rather eager to sue and get a monetary settlement (22 million).  Not only that, Jordan Chandler's admission that he was molested by Jackson was given while he was under the influence of sodium pentathol.  If what he had done was so egregious, why didn't the boy's father have him charged initially?  Instead, he tried to get a monetary settlement.  After the case was settled, the boy and his father refused to initiate criminal charges.

Now, I don't know about you, but if it were my child, criminal charges would have been first and then I would have sued for damages after Michael was convicted (remember, it's much harder to prove a criminal case than is is a civil case).

So, before we become judge and jury (don't need an executioner now). maybe we ought to consider that he didn't do it?
