Ding dong…Ding dong

…Ding dong ding dong.
That’s what greeted my unconscious senses this morning, quick as a flash,
pulling on my favourite jeans “being careful not to catch the unmentionables” dashed down stairs and opened the front door.

There she stood in the morning sunlight, a vision of happiness, dew glistening on her epilates and a sparkle from her speech that drew my gaze.

“Sign here Sir”

Groping for the pen through sleepy eyes I obliged.

Only minutes before I had been in deep slumber dreaming of the night before treading the boards.
“Going through crop circle training, (hoping to be holding the string next week”)

Closing the door on what might have been I carried the parcel and hung it on the hat stand
“bet you can’t guess what it was?” No! not a hat!!
Stumbling along I found myself in the kitchen and promptly switched on the kettle.
Standing listening to the background noise of hard water boiling against the lime encrusted vessel so lovingly used, I began to think of days gone by.

Do men?? actually like shopping for clothing with their wives??
“I could do with just popping in here dear”
“Ok honey”
People watching or should I say shopping women watching is my new hobby.
“that’s very nice dear it suits you”
what a strange place to keep a dog?
I think she’s looking at the wrong rack that’ll never fit
“yes dear I’m ok”
You’ll never stand up in them.
Prefer the frilly ones myself.
Bet that’s not for the hubby
She’s going to get caught on the way out.

Why go to every shop and end up buying from the shop you began at?
Now! if I wanted to have a look in the DIY store especially the wood section which I’m quite taken with (it’s just the texture, I can smell it and feel it now)
Come on!! What would be the response?
“You go honey; I’ll stay in the car”
I think it would be a good idea to have his and hers shops.
Oh and by the way, passed the local DIY the other day and he’s still there, the windscreen chip repair man, gave him a toot.
What a crap franchise,
Maybe he’s just getting out of clothes shopping.
Not daft is he!!!

Alas, a major source of enjoyment for me is my shopping at the store where all the sometimes well-dressed wives of professional men, crooked lawyers, politicians, and doctor's spouses go to buy strange organic stuff from the international section. Then I get my designer coffee in the cafe and wait for the bus. It's a full life.

By the way, you can get neato carpentry togs and really stupid hats at our Home Depot so shopping is a breeze here.Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Keep them comin' Colin.
