Fired my Neuro
Jul 2nd, 2009 at 8:32pm

I haven't been around in about a month or so, it's been a bad one.  I did take the advice given by some here and fired my neuro.  I only saw him twice, but two of the meds he put me on gave me jaundice...and then he wanted me to go back on Topomax which gave me tremors so bad I couldn't hold silverware.  Anyway I see a new doc on Monday.  He is not one my doctor recommends, he doesn't like him....but I saw this man on A&E's missed diagnosis for a woman who came in with headaches....and I've seen some awards he's gotten so I'm going to give him a try.  If he doesn't work, my PCP set me up with another neuro who can see me at the end of the month.

I've come to the conclusion that I am turing into a chronic (started in February and have only had a 3 week break in March).  I'm going to talk to this doc more about O2 and see what else we can do.  I have to take pain pills at least 4 days a week, and this week they haven't taken the pain away, just sort of eased it.  It's been a REALLY bad week for me, almost went to ER twice, but I know that doesn't do any more good than the pills I'm taking.  So far the meds they have tried to prevent them doesn't work, or the side effects kick my butt.
