Script for a mask?
Jul 9th, 2009 at 11:51am

I called Life Gas to place an order for the 02ptimask and the lady told me that my doctor would have to fax over a prescription before they would process my order?

I called my doctor but I have to leave a message and then they will call me back because it has been two years since I have been so I don't know how long it will be before I can get a script  Undecided

I was going to order a mask from the CH store but I only see one size and I think I will need the large size.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ctech. I got a large from the CH store. You need to order the adult large.
*NOTE on sizes:
-Adult Regular suitable for most adult men
-Adult Small suitable for most adult women

Hope this helps.

I don't see an option for sizes for the mask? Maybe these clusters are making me blind...

When you click on the mask, like Bob said, you will be given the option for different sizes, under "Item Options" (blue letters).  Click on Adult Regular, this is the most popular size for adults.

I can get one shipped out today for ya!!  (no Rx required)

Yup they are great to deal with. I messed up on my order Roll Eyes and they worked with me to get it all straightened out. 2 days later I had my mask.
Luckily I haven't had to use it yet, but at least I know I have it if/when I need it.
Thanks again Mrs.Deej.

Thanks for the responses (sorry for the late reply)

The only mask that gives an option for size is the regular not the Ambu mask? Also there are only two sizes showing for the regular and if you look at the Life-Gas site they have numerous sizes for both mask.

I may just order the regular mask and hope that it fits - I was hoping for the Ambu mask for longevity...

They also come with a mouth piece so if the mask doesn't fit you can use that instead. I personally prefer the mouth piece.

Talking with LifeGas, the Adult Regular is the most popular size.  We have the #5 Ambu mask, it too, is the most popular size that adults get.

Like Bob said, we do include a mouthpiece that can be used if you don't like the mask.

I wanna know why Lifegas said you needed a script?!! Have purchased dozens of masks from various suppliers over the years and never been asked for a script.

Best,

Jon

I agree - that's some odd shit right there.

Rx for the O2, absolutely (cuz that's the way the game is played currently), but a mask? What a joke. Maybe they're just double-covering their butts.

But why would some suppliers require one and others not? That's what's odd.

Some have common sense, others do not Brew. I think some do it for the control issues they have. Grin

Absolutely, Jon. We are but a small fraction of all sufferers.

OK,

To my surprise I got a call from Life Gas yesterday and they said I would get my mask today, which I did! I guess the doctors office got off of their but and sent the script over or maybe Life Gas did not want to lose the sale Wink

I got the size 5 Ambu mask and the size 6 in the other mask. I am trying to figure out how to put it together as we speak (should not take long) but it would have been nice if they would have put some directions in the damn box!

I am 6'2" so that is why I was so worried about the size. So far the size 6 in the regular mask fits better than the size 5 in the Ambu mask but the Ambu mask is OK...

If I had known that the Ambu mask on the CH.com store was a size 5 I would have gotten it here, but I would not have been able to get the size 6 mask here which turns out to fit pretty good.

Now I hope that I DON'T have to use it!

Maybe someone could update the info at the store to tell the size of the Ambu mask and include the size 6 in the regular mask? I would rather support the CH.com store when possible.

Thanks Mrs Deej but I figured it out pretty quick after my post last night (I looked at the picture at the CH store).

If I need future supplies I will be using the CH store.

Now if only the CH store could sell oxygen........

You can likely buy the mask outright from them without a RX.  That is simply done to have your insurance pay for it as durable medical equipment.  You may find it to be cheaper if you offer to buy direct from them.  Alternately you can buy it yourself from varous places including here using the previously mentioned method.
