Traveling abroad with an M Tank
Jul 10th, 2009 at 1:56pm

When I travel outside the US I always depend on my Imitrex for relief. It's not as effective as O2 but it does control most of the attacks. I just got back from Mexico and didn't fare very well without the O2. Can I assume you can transport your tank abroad???.....and if so what's the procedure. Any info would be appreciated. As always thank you ain advance!!!

Flying with the tank is Not allowed if this is what you are asking.   Sad
I just suffered out of the country due to this also.  My O2 supplier will provide O2 in another state, but not out of the country... Imitrex ix what I was stuck with too.  I'm sure you can drive an M tank out of the country though!!   Wink

Howard,

There are lots of solutions to meet your need for oxygen while on travel.  Within the US, bring your regulator, mask, and prescription or receipt from your home oxygen supplier when you go on travel...  Calling ahead to a home oxygen supplier is always a good move.  That has worked for me for over 4 years as far away as Hawaii and Alaska.

If you're traveling overseas, check out the following web sites as your regulator will not fit most of the oxygen cylinder fittings overseas:

Better yet, make sure you contact a fellow CH'er in the country you're traveling to that uses oxygen therapy. Michael Berger and Svenn Thørn have taken great care of me while visiting with them, and I've taken good care of Svenn and Bente when they visited with Joyce and me in Virginia...

Michael, Marta, JJ, and Ben made sure I had plenty of oxygen and great hospitality

Svenn made sure I had oxygen at his home, with Ole Orre up in the Telemark, at Ole's home in Sauda, and in later in Haugesund, Norway.

And I always make sure there's plenty of oxygen available when fellow CH'ers visit with Joyce and me.

O2PTIMASK™ or Demand Valve...  Your choice

I'm still waiting for Michael, Marta, JJ, and Ben to pay us a visit...

Take Care,

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. If it's a beautiful fighter, your heart will be ever there
