Poem for the beast.
Jul 13th, 2009 at 9:20am

Hi all... thought you might be interested in reading something I wrote that maybe we can all relate to.

Vicious invader, faceless debaser
Your ice fingers never caress,
Only sharply delve with intent,
Turning to white hot on a whim
There is no rhythm to this dance
Only a staccato wrestle,
No grace, no style.
You may trip me
And I may stumble,
But I feel a strength from our combat
My struggling stance remains straight.

A sick smoke in the shadows,
I feel pity as you bear no smile,
You watch me
Crawl, beg, bargain and weep…
But insistence continues,
This from only a creature of no soul,
Only a Beast
Only a Beast
What hides within you is broken,
Through sharing of your pain
You feed from mine.

Within the agony I find gold,
I thank you for that,
Whilst your flame flickers
And burns at my nerve
I dig deep into the black,
Whilst molten metal
Weaves its way through unprepared paths
I stare and find a kind of peace.
