Hi all,

I was suffering bad CH about 25 years ago. mostly I was hit by these episodes twice a year, on spring and fall. Prednisone helped me if I started using it at the onset of the event. having lived with it for 6-7 years or so it then disappeared.
at the time I had the impression I actually got rid of the CH by taking a certain physical action. I still so believe.
so, for the slim chance the information might be useful to others here is what I did.
I began by stretching my head straight backward as far as I could, even to the angle it hurt, holding it in that position for 5-10 seconds, repeating several times. this was useful when I started the maneuver at the very beginning of the episode, when I felt pain is starting to emerge. if I remember correctly, I was able this way to stop the episode at its track and prevent it from developing.
at some point I added another exercise: I rotate my head vigorously ten times cw and then ten times ccw, drawing in the air as large circles with the head as I can. later I stopped the first part (stretching the head back) but kept doing the head rotation. I still do it to this day, every morning, together with some other unrelated home exercises.
I have not had CH episodes since then.
there is a certain rationale behind these head exercises since it is clear CH is related to blood flow, and head movements somehow affect the flow as well. not really a scientific explanation..
however, please be warned:
1. do not do anything without first consulting your doctor. I vaguely recall doctors don't like quick head movements.
2. there is only a very small chance what helped me will also help you. the range of underlying conditions is extremely wide and each probably calls for a different cure.
