Tens Unit

Has anyone tried a tens unit for ch relief? My thought is many of us pull on our neck and rub our temples so if the pads were placed on the back of the neck or temple perhaps it would stimulate the nerve endings and give relief during a bout. Sound waco? let me know what your thoughts are.

I tried the tens and it did nothing for me. It might for you. (?)

I tend to think I want something to calm the nerve.

I think it's used to try to confuse the nerve, or at least that is what I think they told me. (?) That was many yrs ago.

I heard some very secondhand information about someone who went to the Mayo Clinic and ended up on a Tens unit and it worked. This person was supposed to put me in email contact with the person so I could verify the person in question was indeed a CH sufferer and all but that never came to pass. I'm curious about it as well.

Not getting much attention. A search of PubMed had this abstract--most recent--and then only 3 others back to 1990. Other forms of neurological surgery are showing promise and are gaining support.

G’day Byrnie & Welcome

I’ve had a TENS machine for some years now & have used it to reduce the ganglion in my neck with reasonable effect but only when I’m on a low level, there’s no way I could keep still enough anything above a KIP 8 to keep the pads in place.

It certainly won’t stop the CH but it appears to reduce the duration by relaxing the lump and the area around it.

Make sure you use plenty of the gel on the pads so that you get the full benefit, if you don’t you can give yourself burns.

I wouldn’t recommend using it anywhere else on your head as they really are only designed for muscle relaxing and stimulation & to increase circulation in damaged tissue.

Cheers
Barry
