Hives

Does anyone else here get stress hives from the pain of these cursed headaches? I have 4 different types of headaches (Clusters, Migraines, Trigeminal Neuralgia and Chronic Persistent Daily Headache) and all 4 of the annoying critters are flared up and I have erupted into hives from scalp to toes! No new meds, no new food, no new soaps just the friggin pain. And this is not the first time either. But I am OUT of benadryl and not a happy camper! DH is snoring away in the bedroom and my kitty is sleeping by my foot making sure I dont sneak off. Giggle. Oh if anyone here has figured out how to make Cluster Headaches a military weapon I am sure that would be the key to world peace. Just threaten everyone who misbehaves with those things and everyone would be nice and not fight.

First, I reccomend Zyrtec, it's considered the best medication (that isn't prescription) for hives. Ketotifen is available in EVERY country other than the US, and it's even better than Zyrtec but you need a prescription for it! So you may want to ask your doc about those two. Benadryl isn't an option for me, as I'm allergic to it.

Second, you have PTC/IH like me. My pressure came back high, and since the LP, I've stopped having a lot of random hive breakouts. (I have histamine intolerance, along with angioedema...) If your pressure is up, you could be breaking out in hives due to that. Stress makes the body release more histamine... So, if your intracranial pressure is up, THAT can be adding to this too.

Third...It could be the clusters doing it, too, if you already have allergies. As I said....stress makes the body create / release more histamine from what I've been told by a crapload of doctors.

Basically it's a nasty cycle. When I have a severe hit, I tend to break out in hives, if it lasts for very long.

Hopefully you'll get some relief soon.

PFDAN (And itch-free day and nights~)

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

Oh Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I am still in hives and ready to peel skin. I will ask the doc about it today. I would rather leave my skin on so I think a change in antihistamines would be a better and prettier solution. Giggle.

Mystina I am wishing you lots of pain free days and nights and no hives whatsoever!!
