Water in sinuses as trigger?
Jul 29th, 2009 at 1:23pm

Hi all.

Was horsing around in a pool last week with my family and got a shot of water up my nose.  That precipitated a kip 7 attack, but it was instantaneously a 7, rather than the more traditional gradual build-up that I usually experience.

Has this happened with anyone else?

Thanks,

Scott.

No, I don't think so.  I can't remember the last time I was horsing around and someone shot water up my nose.

I wouldn't be at all surprised at that type of effect. I was in remission for about 5 years.  I choked on half a vitamin, ended up vomiting rather forcefully (much of it came out of the nostrils), and a few days later, I went into cycle (had never had a cycle in the spring, so that was unusual).  I think scouring the sinuses with strong acid is not a good thing to do - probably irritates the trigeminal nerve a bit.

But monty's an anti-gun nut, so his would not be a valid test group. Grin

Obviously kidding - I own several firearms and enjoy discharging them from time to time.  I am just too old for horseplay at the pool - I did get hit in the eye by an kid with a supersoaker in 1994 ... pissed me off, but no effect on clusters.
