Journals and organization
Jul 30th, 2009 at 1:18am

How many of you keep a journal? How detailed and organized is it? What kind of information are you putting in it?

I just began. I'm kicking myself for not having kept one the last four years. So far I'm just putting down the date and time of attacks, how/when they are aborted, what meds/dosages I'm taking. I'll add anything else I think is important.

I've also began a 3 ring binder to collect articles and printouts of information I might want to refer to later.

While I'm at it, another thing I did is buy a little digital kitchen timer - the kind with a magnet on the back that I stick to my O2 tank. This makes keeping accurate track of my O2 therapy in the middle of the night so much easier.

I keep the journal, my imitrex, pens, and other cluster specific stuff in a plastic box near the O2 tank.

Anyone else doing things like this?

I've been keeping a journal since 2006. The one I use is an excel file and includes the following fields:

Date
Time
Impact
Kip
Medication Taken
Dosage
Time To Relief
Triggers
Comments

Some others I have seen include things like "weather," etc.

I also posted this link in a response to another post, but you may also find it useful:
