First -real- concert was back in 81 or 82 I believe.
I was 14 or 15.

Scorpion's and Rainbow.

That was also the first day I was served beer.  Everyone in the car (top age 18) were arguing who would get the beer for the trip.  I was the youngest.  As a joke I walked into a beer distributorship and asked for a case of Bud.  The guy looked at me and laughed, then handed me the case and took my $10.  It was warm and thus decidedly less-than-delicious.

In 1966 (I was VERY young) a couple of us went to Murray State Universary to see Peter, Paul and Mary.

When they came out, Peter said, My name is Peter and I am no disciple, Paul said, My name is Paul and I am no apostle, and then Mary said, My name is Mary and I am no virgin.

We thought that was sooooo cool.  Cool

First concert, 1975 - The Milwaukee Arena, Three Dog Night. Attended with a certain young gal (13 days younger than me) who is now my bride.
Quote:
And that cigarette you're smoking
'Bout scared me half to death
Open up the window, sucker
Let me catch my breath

Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
She said, that ain't the way to have fun, son
That ain't the way to have fun, son

Second concert, 1976, The Milwaukee Arena. I was 15.

Tickets = $6.75

First time I had ever witnessed ganja being consumed. I looked across the aisle and saw three guys passing a contraption, to which a non-rebreather mask had been affixed. No lie.

Opening act: Thin Lizzy

Middle Act: Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band

Headliner: Bachman-Turner Overdrive

First concert, believe I was 15. Doobie Brothers at San Diego Sports Area. My friend and I convince my mom that her sisters boyfriend could take us. It was fun.

Second one, later that year I think, was at Anaheim stadium. My uncle managed America then, and America was part of the venue that day, he sent me 8 tickets which meant I had lots of friends that day. America, Santana and The Beach Boys!  Believe that was 1976.

I was only 14, my brothers date stood him up, so I got to be his "date" for Charlie Rich. Thusly, a country music fan was born! Grin

I cant remember what my first concert was.  I have seen Cheap Trick, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Meatloaf, Def Leppard(x2), Kenny Rodgers, Allan Jackson, The Beach Boys, Foreigner, Styx, Kansas, White Snake, U2, Loverboy (x3), Kiss, Steve Miller Band, Mr. Big, Eddie Money, REO Speedwagon, and probably some more that I have forgotten.  Just think of all that money I could have saved if I would have stayed home and just listened to the records.  Nah!!  There are some I don't remember and some I will never forget.

I was a kid of 10 or 11, visiting my aunt and uncle in NYC ('68 or '69) and the Greatful Dead were playing in Central Park.  It was the first time I smelled marijuana, LOL.

Ha ha. Silly Brew, my uncle John was in the MUSIC business and managed the music group America. He also worked with the Eagles in their earlier days, Poco, Crosby and Nash, and I"m not sure who else. My Uncle Phil, his brother, did alot of the album work. Love that photo of Phil. Grin Apparently Chuckie Manson tried to contact him in prison. A wall of sound eminated from Phil's cell. Cheesy

The parents weren't so approving of my music scene and the tie in with drugs at the time to allow concerts with Woodstock a few months earlier, so we innocently asked to go to the Auto Show downtown January 1970 and were allowed.  But it was breakout local talent playing we went to see, Alice Cooper.  The real thing in freaks at the time.  Caught all the Detroit concert scene after that.

Back in the day, an old brick building on Tchoupitoulas Street called The Warehouse was the venue for touring bands with New Orleans on their list.

I had a close friend who worked for Beaver Productions and he manned the VIP door and would let me in on a little notice. The Warehouse was a vintage 1800 brick building that stood by shear habit. That is the only explanation how it withstood the volume. There were no chairs...only area rugs covering the concrete floor.

The Allman Brothers were the house band and they were the first rock concert I attended. From then on I went to as many as I could. You would not believe the bands that flocked to this building.

Those were some good times.

Not really a concert but, 1963. Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Fats Domino.

The night my older brother graduated from high school and wanted to take his girl friend to see Fats. At that time you had to be 21 or with an adult. I was my mother's escort for the evening.

My first proper concert was Roxette and here in Helsinki, but I cannot recall the year. I dragged dad along and he was a good sport about it. Grin
