Flying
Aug 3rd, 2009 at 4:47pm

I have spent a fair bit of time in the last two weeks reading the message boards bit have not come across any discussion on the affect of flying on CH"s. My interest stems from the fact that over the 40 plus years I've danced with the devil I have only ever had my cycle stop prematurely and both times it happened after a of at least 3 hours.
The first time was after a flight to Antigua and the second time was after a flight to Ireland. I actually had an attack on the flight to Antigua but none there after for a year which is my normal cycle. The attacks stopped the day I landed in Ireland and again stayed away for a year.
In both instances I was only about 2 weeks into my normal 6-8 cycle.
Anybody out there had a similar experience?

I have had a cycle aborted after driving, not flying to the Rocky Mountains.  Actually 2 years in a row....My cycles are usually 12 weeks long, but they stopped laess than mid cycle when I went to the Mts.  I took my O2 each time and got hits on the way up there, but the first night in Estes Park, Colorado, they stopped and stayed gone until next cycle a year later.

Go figure?  We went to the Mts again the next year but BEFORE the cycle began....and I the cycle began again AFTER our trip.....

Next time we will have better planning and wait for the cycle to begin to go...Smiley

Blessings!

The one thing you can count on with clusters is that you can't count on them to be predictable. I wish at the moment that I had a flight planned to test my theory but I won't be aloft till January.

I know of others who are triggered by flying.  It has had no effect on me whatever.  If I thought a three hour flight would make a difference I would be on a plane cross country tomorrow, make that tonight!

I remember a trip back in the 90's when I flew 12 hours from Cape Town to London and my cycle started the day after I landed in London! No trex back then so I had a real unpleasant months holiday.

Well I've found myself in the jet's lavatory injecting the trex due to a CH whopper that came on mid flight, and haven't seen improvement after a flight, so no positive effect for me.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.
