Partner of a new sufferer says hello!
Aug 21st, 2009 at 4:55pm

Hi all, I'm Lisa and my partner Paul has just been diagnosed with CH. He began with persistant headaches on Monday after painting at work all day, these continued until he had an episode on Wednesday night. On Thursday he had 3 episodes and ended up in a&e and was diagnosed with CH and given an injection and some Immigrin nasal sprays with he used 2 of that night and still had another episode after which he couldn't take anything for. We saw a very understanding doc today but it has been a hellish day for him, he is upto 8 episodes so far and here in the UK it is only 9.45pm.   He has not had an episode since 6pm having taken Amitriptyline at the onset of the last attack and Sumatriptan injection half an hour ago as he was feeling the onset of another.

Wow, what a ride hey, I found this site yesterday and thank you so much, I was better informed than the doctor! He wouldn't prescribe 02, however my partner is a welder and has an account for gases so that'll be on order Monday morning.  We have been trying super strong fresh coffee, Redbull and I'm embarassed to say but sexual methods of relief with the latter having the most effect and has actually prevented an episode twice now!!! We are now looking at more alternative methods after reading the clusterbusters site.

I hope I'm not making this too long so I'll leave it there for now, I'm pretty sure Paul will introduce himself in the near future once he feels ready. Thank you again for all the info xxx

Hi Lisa and Welcome!!

I am glad to meet you even under the circumstances and hope to meet Paul soon.

Actually the "exercise" you mentioned is not all that uncommon to use to stop an attack maybe not that specific exercise...    Grin    BUT Many have used vigorous exercise to kill or at least postpone a CH attack.

Sending Paul Pain Free vibes and some strength to you!

Why mess with success?  Smiley

But seriously, become really comfortable with HOW to apply O2. He's in a great position being able to get an unlimited supply!

As welcome as you are to be here, don't overlook the excellent support organization in the UK:

One advantage is that they can help with your health care system if you run into problems.
