Not this again
Aug 26th, 2009 at 8:59pm

Well its been almost 2 years and the bitch is back  Angry
I still have some Verap and prednisone(8 months out of date)
Been taking for 1.5 weeks
It has only woke me up a few times once I fall asleep  Smiley
I am getting hit between 600pm and 1000 pm.
The last 3 days my head has not stopped throbbing in between the hits.My jaw is killing me too.
All this is on the same side of my head.
I almost forgot how annoying this CH is
I am off work Friday and will go to the neuro to get some up to date meds.
Only 3 of the hits have been a 9 and the rest a 6 or 7.
I know I am having Chs but it seems weird this time. The severity not as bad and the not getting hit 2 hours after I fall asleep.

Any feedback is much appreciated .

Sorry to hear the B--itch is back.
Hope your doc appointment goes well.

You may be ramping up on the CH hits, I've heard some people say that after a remission period they start out less intense then go for broke on them.

I hope they stay mild until you can get them under control as much as that is possible anyway.

Wink

Watch how you take the prednisone. As a matter of I wouldn't take it myself with talking to a Dr.

And for the Verapamil, it's a preventative, I made sure I never ran out and I never would stop taking it.

The last time Dec 2007 was the 1st time to go to the doc for this problem and I had been in cycle for I think 5 weeks .Then she told me I would be in no more pain and I had a few shadows and it was over.

Up till then I just suffered with the cold and hot compress which I could deal with unless it went on for more than an hour.

As the years have gone by I think my cycles have been longer and the pain worse

I know the cycle will end along with the debilitating pain and I always try not to get to excited that surely makes it worse

My first time at the Dr. with this, they gave me Indocin, Pred, and some other bullshit. The Dr. said it "should shorten the cycle" which I was in for about 5 weeks also.
The pred has to be tapered down, the indocin made me crap like a dog at a chili eating contest. The other stuff, to be honest, I can't remember.
But my cycle was ALWAYS 3-4 hits a day and at 2am, without fail. I went thru this for about 5-8 weeks 3 times a year for about 5 years. Then a few years PF, then it started all over again. Since I've been on verap constantly, I haven't been hit since fall of 05. Go to your Dr. and ask questions and see about a second opinion also.
Now, everyone may not be the same and have different lengths and times of hits so really make an effort to ask Dr's and the folks here!

I slept through another night with no hits just that  same pain that will not go away.I did get hit at 10:00 when I was out surveying and took  a Zomig nasal spray and it was gone within 15 minutes.

You should have seen me holding the rod in 1 hand and pushing on my temple with the other. The spray was 1 1/2 years out of date and still worked.

Sleeping through the night without a hit seems odd and I believe the Verap is helping that??

Its like I have a combo of cluster,The flu,and a tension headache

Not sure what in the world is going on

I don't know why taking the pred is any different than the Verap without the doc knowing. They are only 10mg pills at 3 a day for a week.I am on 2 a day now,but will be at the doc tomorrow and get some up 2 date meds.

Pred is nothing new to me.I get bad poison ivy every summer and the doc will put me on it if I go in to get that cortisone shot

Hope all is well with my fellow sufferers  Shocked
