Lingering Shadows
Aug 28th, 2009 at 12:06pm

I am working on my 02 stuff.
I have not received my pepper spray yet
i am taking feverfew, gaba, b12, magnesium, and using melatonin at night.

today i have a lingering shadow, about a 3-4.

when i drank a big thing of cold coffee, i think it got worse.

its almost like i want it to just get on with it- BUT I KNOW BETTER THAN THAT!!!!!

its' like i am sitting here with a demon circling me.

any suggestions?

Flyinfree-

Drinking or eating anything too cold will trigger a cluster for me during my cycles.  Was the cold coffee refrigerator cold?

I don't usually have to deal with shadows, only full blown hits.
When I do get the occasional shadow, I do the ice bag thing directly on top of my head and it seems to help.
Give this a try and let me know if it helps.

I am a chronic suffer and do have to deal with the shaddows I find a combo of red bull and 02 can have very good effects on the shaddows too. I have been have nerve blocks each month for the last 4 months and that has also got rid of the shaddows for a couple of weeks at a time.

Good luck and hope you get pain free soon

I too am chronic and have to deal with shadows often.  Been dealing with the little B---itch today as a matter of fact.

Hot cup of Joe/java/coffee, 1 to drink and 2 hold the cup to my temple, and an extra Taurine capsule.  Shadow is just now starting to fade.

Cool

This is kind of gross, but I find that energy drinks are effective for ridding myself of the lengthy shadows that seem to follow every major hit I get.  The problem is that I can't drink them cold and carbonation is a trigger for me.

Basically, I open the red bull and let it sit on the counter for a couple of hours until it is warm and flat.  Then I choke it down.  Totally gross, but does the trick.

Ken,

You might try the 5Hr Energy.  They are just a couple of ounces, have no carbonation, and don't taste nearly as nasty as the others.  I also find they don't tear up my stomach nearly as badly as do the others.

Flyinfree,

Sorry, but sometimes there is not a lot of activity here on the board.  Don't know why, but I understand and share your frustration of needing some support and there is no one home.  Sorry! Smiley Smiley  Sometimes it seems teh shadows just want to linger and there is nothing you can do to get them to leave.  I understand fully your wishing it would just hit and be done.  Been there!  The anticipation is often worse than the hit itself.

Ken , it is so good for me, and so bad for you, that I finally found someone who can't have drinks that are cold!  Thanks for sharing.  I don't have the carbonation problem, but I do have a bunch of little weird triggers.  I posted them under "My Life With Clusters" (I think that was the name of it).   Cheesy
