ROFLMAO  Smiley  Brian!!!

If that's the case we are all cloister f@cked

I completely understand where you are coming from Lawrence.  We have all been told some really stupid chit over the years with regards to CH.

I was once told "You just need to learn to control them"  OMG next you'll want me to control the weather while you're at it!

Some people just don't get it Lawrence and there isn't much you can do about it.  You may want to have your wife come here and read up some on CH. Maybe ... just maybe then she'll change her tune.

I've been praying for years for God to take them away.  All I can say is maybe God has a plan for us that we are unaware of yet.

Or on the other hand...

Maybe the devil is just f-ing around with us, because we're all so GOOD!!   Grin

I tend to get quite bitter about this.

I've got family members who believe in THE SECRET.

I can't, I can't even listen to that stuff due to the shit I've been through.

When I was 11, and first got ill... I went into complete denial.

I convinced myself that I was not sick. I did not have a disease that controlled what my body did. I was going to continue to go to school, and could succeed. I didn't have to admit to the constant headache I had.

It didn't fucking work.

I prayed more than enough. I had more than enough faith.

The only thing prayer and faith did was get me through it. It has not cured me.

It's kept me going, but so has medication to control my conditions.

It's a tool for coping with things for me. Nothing more. I believe that everything happens for a reason (most of my problems have at least helped me ease someone elses suffering in the end...) but that doesn't mean to me that God will cure me.

I put my hope and faith in researchers, In doctors,  In my family and in the other sufferers of my conditions, as those are people who may be able to do something about it, and if not, at least share my plight.

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

Lawrence,

I guess you could say I'm "religious" although I don't consider my beliefs "religion", but rather a personal faith and relationship with God.

To answer your questions about what your wife said, First of all, she has a faulty understanding of what the Scriptures teach about healing.  Nowhere does it say that all will be healed if they "have enough faith".  I have seen healing take place in a number of cases, have experienced it in a couple of instances myself, (the day before surgery once).  I have full faith that God is able and often willing to heal, but it is for HIS purposes not ours.  It is HIS choice as to when and where, and not ours to demand.  If I could demand it of Him then I would be God and not He.

I used to ask repeatedly for healing and for them to go away also, but have come to understand as did the apostle Paul that "My grace is sufficient for thee", and that "My strength is made perfect (complete) in weakness."  Once I was willing to accept that He has a purpose in my life that includes CH I've also learned to live with them instead of constantly fighting them.  Doesn't mean I don't still feel the pain as intensely, but I have peace of mind knowing that He knows the end from the beginning and that I can trust Him.  I've also learned a real appreciation for the book of Job, as you can see from my signature line.

PM me if I can help.  Anything beyond this needs to be private.

Jerry

I will shorten this story:

Man trapped in flood on his roof...water is rising, prays to God to save him...a guy in a canoe shows up says get in, man refuses says God will save me...a boat shows up to rescue him..man refuses the help says God will save me.....a helicopter shows up...man refuses says God will save me...water rises...man drowns...gets to heaven, asks God why didn't you save me? God said for heavens sake I sent a canoe, a boat and a Helicopter.....

you get the point. Don't wait for a miraculous cure, use the people God sends you. I'm sure she meant well! Wink

I agree with everything Jerry posted.  I feel the same way.  I had epilepsy for 28 years.  I had over 30 seizures a day.  The drs could do nothing for me.  I was allergic to all meds on the market.  I had my pastor and a visiting evangelist lay hands on me and pray for me for a healing.  I was healed on the spot and have been siezure free for 17 years now.  I had torn my rotator cuff and needed surgery.  God healed me the day before surgery so I didn't need surgery any more.  I have been part of, seen and heard about many miricles being preformed.  God is able!  However, it is in His time and according to His purpose.  I pray that I am healed of ch but I am not stupid.  God may choose not to heal me like he didn't heal Paul of his afflictions.  I take medication and let drs help me.  But I will say that God performs his best miricles when we are up against all odds and the drs just cant do anything.  That is my opinion based on my relationship with God.  I am sorry that your wife is shoving this belief on you to a point where it sounds like you are getting angry.  Please keep seeking medical help and read the boards there is lots of good advice here like oxygen, imitrex, verapamil, lithium, etc.  I hope you find relief one way or another.

Well, my faith in God is strong. I've read The Secret and plenty of other self help books for other interests.

But I'm still a clusterhead and don't count on it to end because of God's miracle or something like that.

However, I do believe that I did become a clusterhead for a reason, and that is part of my path in this life. if I'd be in remission for the rest of my life, that would be a blessing...but I'm still prepared for hits and cycles. What's true for others, is true to others, that's how I see it myself.

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

I'm reasonably certain God doesn't like the things I call him when I'm getting hit so I don't expect a lot of assitance from him.

When I pray, it's usually along the lines of, "Thank you for my wife, thank you for my son, thank you for my health, and thank you for the opportunity to provide for my family."

And then it's usually something like "Thy will be done." I stopped asking for anything a long time ago.

asking god to get rid of your headaches is like asking god for a million dollars. instead of getting a direct result it opens doors of opportunity. god gives you the tools and you have to figure out how to use them.
