I thought it best to write an update

I thought it best to post an update. After a 10 year remission I am in week 12 of my current CH episode. I went back to my Dr. 2 weeks ago and told him that the 450 mg of lithium daily that he prescribed wasn't doing the job and I wanted to try Verapamil which I had read about on this site.. He said sure and prescribed 240mg a day combined with the lithium. I gave it a week and there was really no improvement so I upped the Lithium to 650mg and the Verapamil to 360MG. I had a Kip 7 last night which is the first CH I have had since a week ago Thursday. 9 days without a CH. I may be onto something. I'm even able to have a beer or two without the beast paying a visit. This doctor has turned out to be a pretty good guy. He even asked me for the address of this web site. He was going to check it out. At least he has an open mind as far as CH's are concerned.

When I took the two together, I was taking 480mg of verapamil and 900mg of lithium. Worked like a charm.

I think he's a little light on the lithium as well. The neuro I used to see, who has since retired, had me on 900 mg. a day too. For the time being I will maintain the same dosages because I have never taken these two drugs in combination.
