Mission ER inpossible.....
Sep 5th, 2009 at 8:10pm

well, last night was a pretty hossible night, went through a 3 hour kip8 with no trex or o2.  My wife took me to the ER and I was told they were not a pain managment facility nor would they give me any narcotics.  I told them narcotics wasn't what I was looking for anyway, o2,trex would work great.  They handed me their hospitals new policy on treating non emergency problems in the ER and told me I would have to wait and see my Dr.  I left disgusted and slightly pissed.  Went home got an icepack and hunkered down for the rest of it.  Anyone else run into this at their ER?

Quit going to the Er early in my days with this thing.

I had Kaiser, while it sounds like a Nazi run health care system, they did give me a shot of something but the rebound and shadows taught me to rely on isolation, darkness, silence and lots of ice cold compresses. I think I froze the cat once thinking it would help.

did the ER thing twice in the early days-  gave up on that REAL quick when 1.  they had me sit there for 2+ hours, then the bitch in triage told me while in the throes of an 8+,  and I quote, "you need to calm down!"

get yourself some more o2. Those assholes at the hospital don't know and don't care to know.

The funniest story I've heard about ER on here was the guy who was getting the run around and he busted back in the ER, found an empty room, hooked up to the O2, pulled out a cigarette lighter, held it up with his finger on the trigger and told everyone to stand back and no one would get hurt.... Smiley

The ER called the cops and as luck would have it the officer on duty had a brother with CH and the cops ended up chewing out the ER staff and driving the guy home after he aborted.

You might try the firestation next time... They keep O2 and are a lot nicer...

Never even tried the ER route because of the time factor. I knew it always be too slow.

Now I never, repeat never let my O2 supply get below 2-3 days worth of hits.

I'm like Marc. Getting to the ER was too slow and I was lucky in that I was already seeing a neurologist who identified it at my next appointment.

I think we should carry small cards with accurate CH information and symptoms on our person. Drugs, O2, procedures, Urls, MDs and that migraine treatments are useless.....whatever might help.

Just an idea. It may help get around stupidity in ERs.

The ER is no place to be unless you're unconscious.

4 someodd yrs ago I was hoping for that....I had reached my limit on meds and o2 wasnt working....I wanted to be pumped with roids and knocked out....
The filled me with so much dope and it still couldnt knock me out.  Undecided...After 3 days of with what felt like withdrawl I knew ER not an option ew
