2nd Cycle of HELL!!!
Sep 6th, 2009 at 4:20am

Hi,

I have come across this website this morning and what a God sent!!! What a relieve…..I’m not alone.

I’m a 38 year old male and have just started my 2nd cycle of the daemon. I have feared this day as I knew that this might come back at some stage. My 1st cycle was 6 months ago and lasted for 4 weeks of HELL.

During my 1st cycle I developed a blood clot in one of my heart chambers. After a MRI, Catscan and loads of blood tests I was diagnosed with hereditary high cholesterol and some artery blockage.

Does anybody know if Clusters are triggered because of cholesterol problems?

I’m desperately needing answers.

Regards,

Dian

The basic cause of cluster headache is not known, current research links the expanding of blood vessels in the head with chemically active proteins found in nerve endings around blood vessels of the trigeminal nerve (the fifth cranial nerve).

However high cholesterol can cause headaches. High cholesterol clogs arteries causing a restriction of blood flow in the body; this blood flow restriction can cause headaches.

Hope this helps!

If "they" are caused by high cholesterol then I would be an exception to the rule.  7 years now with cycles beginning late winter early spring and my cholesterol sits at 2.1...........  not bad for a 50 year old.  The demon remains a mystery to some of the best minds, but it still doesn't stop us from looking for a cause.  If it helps, my M.D started me on Predisone for a week, followed by a taper off the following week, now on to Verapamil daily.  ALWAYS, ALWAYS have 02 on standby.  Using the 02 now less and less frequently as the Verapamil seems to be leeping the  really big beast at bay.

Best of luck my friend   Cheesy

I'm confident that one day there will be something that we can take that will erradicate these HA's altogether.
Either a medication, or procedure.....there will be something.....
