I have been suffering with ch for over ten years but was only recently diagnosed correctly. I had been pain free for two years and thought I had seen the end of these terrible nocturnal (and daytime) pains. My last diagnosis was a brain aneurysm. I had the operation and thought that was done and dusted, turns out the aneurysm was just coincidental.
Biggest Shock of my life when I woke up two weeks ago in the early hours with a familiar and unwelcome friend. Once diagnosed I started researching and came across this site. It is nice to find people rowing the same boat and to know it isn't just me. My Neurologist has prescribed sumatripitran and relpax and betwen these I seem to be finding some relief. One day pain free but tomorrow is another day I suppose.

  Another strong vote for 02 here.  I can't use triptans at all (some artery blockage and high cholesterol), so 02 is my only abortive . . . can usually kill the beast in minutes if used early-on in the attack.

  Proper regulator/flow-rate and mask is essential to success . . . is a miracle abortive for most of us . . . has kept me from many a "dance" since 2/02 when I came here, got life-saving info, and got my life back.
