Ever Dream of having an attack?
Sep 24th, 2009 at 3:50pm

Probably a repost but....

I sometimes dream about it, as I did last night. I'm dreaming about my attack getting more and more severe for about 20 minutes, using the new oxygen masks that I had just gotten (really ordered today) and having no success. Then I wake up and realize I have almost let it get a grip and I rush for the o2.

Yep, several times in the past - except for the O2 part.

Now I seem to have learned to wake up far more quickly.

Many times, with and without O2.

Very common when on cycle. Like you, by the time I finally wake up, it's got a good toe hold and the abort is a bear!!!!

My night time hits are always preceeded by a dream. I hardly ever dream when not in cycle.

I've set up an ignore list of things that do not disturb my sleep, like the church bells at 0600 (at a guess about 100 dB in front of my bed room window), the neighbors chain saw and lawn mower starting between 0700 and 0800, all other annoying sound, including the phone.

There are only three and a half things that wake my up: the first signs of a CH attack, too high a pressure in the bladder and a wet cat walking over my face. The buzzing of the alarm clock got included in the ignore list automatically so now I've tuned in the worst radio station, that plays "music" suitable to wake up the dead.

When I wake up with an oncoming attack, I usually remember some dream - that five minutes later is already forgotten. Usually I only dream about trivialities, but we have a saying: "Ein reines Gewissen ist ein gutes Ruhekissen" (A quiet conscience sleeps in thunder!)  Grin

Remembering a dream when an attack wakes us up is almost to expect: The beast likes to hit during the REM sleep phase, the time when we dream.

ahh, to sleep longer than 2 hours at a time. Unfortunately, the nightmares start the minute I fall asleep.

Apparently I was dreaming of getting hit- and talked to the spouse about my head hurting while I was still asleep. I guess it was a hit during sleep, just not enough to wake me.

Sleep is overrated anyway

I no longer wake up during the night with hits, but when I did...

I'd always dream there was a snake or SOMETHING crawling around in my face and eating it's way through my eye/head.

Melatonin keeps me from waking up during the night, at this point.

As far as I'm concerned, cluster busting has been the best treatment I've tried. No migraines since I started it, and my hits have gotten so much better. Wanna know more?

Technically No... But...

I have incorporated a CH hit in progress into a dream...Needless to say I wasn't asleep for much longer, woke up banging the top of the Kip scale and the beast and I had a Shoot out.  I won, Imitrex to the rescue!

Luckily not. I've seen also sorts of dreams, but hopefully ch will not play a part in them any night soon.
