The wrong side survey
Oct 1st, 2009 at 9:41am

Is there any known connection between being left or right handed, and the side on which someone's CH occurs?

I guess that your CH, like mine, occurs on the wrong side.  But, does it occur on your left side, or the right?  And are you left handed, or right handed?

Are you really left, or right handed, or were you encouraged to be so, when you were a child?  If you think that you're naturally left, or right handed, would you instinctively kick a ball with the same sided leg?

I get the beast on both sides - I geuss he isn't that choosey with me.

I have to say though that I am not 'right' or 'left' handed. I eat left handed but write right handed - I remember going for tea at a families house when I was in my teens and the family member made me eat the proper way (right handed) which was a bit embarrasing as I couldn't do it Roll Eyes

Hi boxcorner,

I am right-handed (wasn't forced into being so) and get the headaches on the left side.  I would say that I am a little bit ambidextrous--I do kick a ball with my right leg but do things like shoot pool left-handed.  One neurologist told me I am ambidextrous from "observing" me.  (whatever that means but that's what he said)

I am decidedly right handed and decidedly right clustered.

Always kinda wished I was left handed though, it seems kinda  coolCool

CH according to Bejeeber:

Strictly relying on doctors for CH treatment is often a prescription that will keep you in a whole lot of PAIN. Doctors are WAY behind in many respects, and they are usually completely unaware of the benefits of high flow 100% O2.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

Clusters right side, write with right hand, throw with left hand, shoot left handed.

Cluster Right Side
Left Handed
Scissors Right Handed
Throw Right Handed
Kick Right Footed (my strong leg), in soccer we use both Smiley
I guess i'm ambidextrous in many ways.

No relationship between handedness and cluster side. Besides, the cluster side may change over time....

This question has popped up several times over the last 10 years. None of us have been able to spot a real pattern.  YMMV.

Thanks.  I write left-handedly and my left arm is the stronger of the two, but I use my right hand for fine work, for example when painting and I instinctively kick a ball with my right leg.  However, my CH is left-sided.  As the right side of my brain controls the left side of my body, I've often wondered what effect, if any, my left-sided CH has on the right side of my body and hence whether that's why I'm a leftie (or, gaucher in French).
