Strange Nights

Having some strange nights lately. Been in a cycle since August and thought my cycle might be ending. I went four days pain free then the last couple nights have been strange. I'll wake up with a hit (kip5), take care of it with O2, go back to sleep and wake up with another one half hour later. This continues for a couple hours. I have never done this in the 20 years I've had these damn things. Any advice??

I have been having a similar experience this cycle. September was manageable. I'd wake up with one 4-5 hit, wash my face with warm water ands go back to bed. Then 3 weeks ago all hell broke loose. I have been waking up
1 1/2 hours after falling asleep, taking O2, going back to sleep, waking up 1 1/2 later, repeating ALL NIGHT LONG until deciding to stay up. Needless to say, my days are beginning at 4:30 am. The last 2 nights I have gotten only one hit each and then 5 hours straight sleep. I have a residual headache all day, but no hits. Since this is my 8th week, I think it might be coming to an end. I think this might be the case for you. Usually I get hit fast and furious at the end.

I don't get hit fast and furious at the end of an episode, but I was getting the constant wake back ups after O2 at night during peak episode.

I finally said scr*w it, I'll use imitrex and "only" have to be awakened by the beast a couple times per night.

There are lots of effective treatments documented at this site. Take matters into your own hands, learn as much as you can here and at clusterbusters.com, put it into practice, then tell this CH beast Jeebs said hello right before you bash him so hard with a swift uppercut knockout punch that his stupid horns go flinging right off.

On the plus side my wife got coffee in bed nearly every morning when i was in high cycle and its amazing what happens on my street at 4 am Mark

Then at night its like clockwork every two hours k7-k9. Yesterday I was pain free all day, and I was like ahhhh the beast is gone. Then at midnight BANG the beast rises again with about a k8 that lasted about an hour. I am sooooo tired.

Last night I asked my husband to sleep downstairs near me as I was going through this up again down again hell. He tried to wake me a few times before an expected hit, but I was so damn tired I just ignored him until I was hit. So each time I got up, (4 times in all) I would tap him and say "headaches", go in the next room with O2 and then return to sleep. He, of course, would return right away to snoring after being tapped. At 5:30 he goes to bed upstairs and I have the big 7:30 hit. It seems the last one is the worst! I go upstairs and he says to me, "You had a pretty good night." He didn't even realize what was going on all night. This whole situation is so sad because no one really understands.

What I do is back the O2 up with a cup of strong coffee or an energy drink. The O2 will kill the hit quick and the caffiene seems to keep him away. If this combo doesn't work eventually I'll give in and take a jab of Imitrex. That'll kill it for the rest of the night. -Dennis-

Boy that sure is true for me.

It's as if it's the grand finale of the series - and for me it is the one that won't succumb to O2. I should've mentioned earlier that's another reason why I reverted to using imitrex for wake up hits.

The O2 does work eventually for the last hit, but it practically reaches a K10. That one wipes me out. I vowed to stay natural after a horrible 16 week cycle 4 years ago when I was taking everything from Prednisone to Depakote to a ton of Neurontin. I never felt worse in in all my "cycling". So now I just do RC seeds every few nights when I need to sleep, coffee, and O2. I may be tired, but I feel that I am in control, if that is possible. I am not getting hit all day, I can function fairly well, and I can manage my life with the predictability of the night hits. If nothing else, these episodes help me to appreciate what is good about my life and take notice of those around me who are suffering from far worse things....and as horribly painful as this is, there ARE worse things. My sister's family dealing with my 6 year old autistic nephew and my young neighbor battling MS with 2 small children are in a far worse place. I pray for them and my children, and I work hard to get through each day knowing that there will be better times ahead.
