I am an IT guy and have loaded it on three systems so far and so far so good, but I would not run out and buy it myself just yet. It has only been out like a week so give it some time and see what people say about it. One of the people I just gave a laptop with it on just walked in my office smiling, he said he really likes it so far and seems very happy and he is my toughest user to satisfy so I am hopeful that it is better than Vista, ok that is not going to be hard to do so better than XP would be a better statement.

Still not sure that it would do anything on a computer that isn't done better by BSD, Solaris or Linux. Time will tell.*

I can't get passionate about operating systems. If they don't get in my way, then I'm happy.

Between digital camera files and work stuff, I pretty much live on my PC. With the exception of wanting ever more hard drive space because of my photography, I'm happy.

Funny, I used to think that 2 TB was a lot of storage space........ Luckily it's cheap these days.

I am becoming more of a convert, I just did an install on my work PC that I had XP on.
I had it installed with Office 2007 and Antivirus and a few other programs I use and up to date in less than three hours. For those that do not do this kind of thing often, that is very fast, the same install with XP probably would have been about two or three hours longer so I am impressed, but give me a week or two ussing it and ask me if I am still happy, nothing from Microsoft in the past has ever been bugor headache free.

I have changed my mind, ok at least on older hardware.
I installed Windows 7 on my work desktop it is a Dell Dimension 9200 only a couple years old and came with Vista that I removed and replaced with XP. Well I had Windows 7 on it for about a week and it drove me nuts, way to many hardware errors and I could never get it to print to a network printer, Firefox also constantly locked up so I gave up and just reloaded XP and I am much happier.
So I guess if you get a brand new computer Windows 7 should be fine but don’t try to load it on older hardware.

There is no stronger a person then one who can deal with brain pain and still function.
