doctor from HELL
Nov 15th, 2009 at 5:50pm

YIKES.... two years ago,,,with my last cycle, I was refered to a new neurologist in town.
Well...first thing, she wanted me to have a sleep study!!!!!   WITH CH???

Then she gave me a script for Oxycodone   350 pills.

Then she wanted me tested for Epilepsy!...
She did give me O2...thank god. BUT  I smelled something wrong, and moved on.

Today I found out she just dissapeared from town.
And not only was she missing, but she had been performing spinal taps on folks right in her office, and botched a few.   YIKES
Turns out she was not even a Doctor, and she was in prison for murder !!!  and spent several years in a mental hospital.     Good God !
I guess the moral of the story is..... Google your doctor, ,,,
I know this is a weird exception...but you can find out a lot about a doctor on line now,,,, so better to play it safe, and check them out first.    Shocked

YIKES....I am still in shock!         lorac

How could she write scripts for narcotics without the proper numbers, forget what you call it, for the Feds and why wouldn't a script for 350 raise a flag at the pharmacy?

Man you were lucky to get rid of her!!!  Thank goodness!  You read about this kind of thing, but you never think it can happen to you.  So glad you weren't harmed!

Well, sleep studies are not all that uncommon.  350 hydrocodone?  Sheeet, I could walk into the ER, leg hanging by a tendon and guts falling out, and all I would get is a bandaid and a Tylenol.

a bandaid and a Tylenol? you would actually get that much from the ER? All I got was some sort of cocktail and a "you're free to go" comment. then a bill in the mail for $240. Heck I could have bought a ton of tylenol or smirnoff ice for that price. they also gave me a free printout of info on "migraine". how sweet of them! Grin

a simple search - but this came up and suuuure seems to be her lady!!  check it out.   Tongue  She was a licensed DO, or an osteopath (4-yr degree + exams to write rxs) - Not an MD or neurologist... was a "specialist" that GPs referred people to in the the area!

People writing about the same thing as lorac - directly to sleep study, drug rxs, etc...

Thats the one....good work Val.
I talked to a couple of nurses yesterday, and they said she did get a licence after prison...Jeesh  I didn't think they would give a licence to some one with that record!!
Also said they had family members who went to her, and were also given script for large numbers of pills.  AND given sleep studies too.
Sorry I didn't put in the links, next time I'll be more complete.                     lorac

Don't beat yourself up!
I'd have been seriously freaked after hearing all that too and depending on how you got the info you wouldn't have had links anyhow!
I'm glad you're okay, it's a good lesson for the rest of us though and I'm just sorry you had to go through it yourself
